Chapter 18
Seven days had longed passed since they conquered the Northern tribes.
Athesmos has been killed. Stabbed by Xrysos own sword. Atlas had escaped with her life hanging on a thin line.
They had won the battle but Gouria was gone.
They hadn't found him.
Anderios learned it was his own daughter that had killed his lover and he loathes her on sight.
He met with her once and he could not bring himself to harm his own child and so he had let her go.
He stood there watching her run away with the woman she now calls mother.
How can this be?
Dylan and Aaron still have not recovered from their battle wounds.
Both men badly injured and Anderios feared the thoughts of losing his best friend too.
Xrysos although won the battle yet displeased with the thoughts of losing his Ria.
Been the only one who could enter Anderios chambers since the man has gone mad.
The king pushed the door open and stood in the room.
Anderios eyes raised and he met those of the King's and the young prince.
"I brought him here so you can take a good look at him. Check if the mark is complete and let us know for a surety that Ria is dead!" the king watched his son walk over to Anderios.
The man came down from his bed and went on his knees. He gently pulled the child's clothes off and traced the marks on the boy's tender skin.
He had seen these marks countless of times.
He knew the patterns by heart.
He knows every shape of it.
And as he trails his fingers slowly on the patterns the scar's made. He discovered it was incomplete.
His fingers stilled.
Eyes wide open.
"Incomplete!" he whispered. His eyes slowly meeting those of the young prince. "Where are you?" he asked.
Xrysos moved closer and stopped behind his son. His eyes on Anderios.
He pitied the man.
Just in seven days and he already looked seven years older.
"Where are you?" Anderios whispered again.
The boy's eyes shone brightly once again and Anderios felt his soulmate.
That pull.
"He's alive!" he cried.
"Lead us to him!" The king told his son.
Both the king, Anderios, Evander who has been moaning the death of his sister. Damon and with few other men all went in search of Gouria.
