(original scene: episode 5; vendredi 19:21)
I'm hanging out with the gang but they know something is off. Yann does anyway. He asks me repeatedly, after pulling me away from the group, what was wrong. I denied anything, but Eliott kept running through my mind, the thoughts not letting me leave as quick as Eliott did today. I'm still confused on what it was. Was it something I said; done? It made me self conscious the more I thought about it. Between my repeated conversation with Yann, Arthur and Basile run into the kitchen. Yann and I just stare at them, as they've yet to give us an explanation. "I just got a text," Arthur begins. "Big, big, big party at Chloé's tonight!" Great. They're going to try and drag me along and I'll have to face a girl I left a week ago, without explanation. It will be the most awkward conversation I will have in my life, explaining how Eliott and I ran off together. I don't even want to think about after. He's not talking to me right now and if he was going to, he needs some sort of explanation. It kills me to not know what I did to hurt. "What do we do? We're going?" Arthur asks. Before I know what's coming, I need to look over my options. If I go; I need to face Chloé. But I could potentially get drunk enough before that, so my completely wasted self can deal with it. There could also be a possibility that Eliott is there... then what do I do? I'll let him talk to me. He's the one who needs to explain the most between the two of us. In the background of my thoughts, Basile's voice is more prominent, "Besides, there'll be Daphné. And tonight, guys, I feel it, I'll fuck her, that's sure!" Moments like these are when I question my choice in friends. "Of course, it's your night tonight, that's sure," Arthur replies. I'm not really sure how they can take Basile's words so seriously. I go back to my thoughts. If I don't go; My friends will get mad at me. But I definitely won't have to talk to Chloé. It seems a more attractive option as I can't stand the thought of having to talk to- "Lucas, can you get us in?" Basile asks, knocking me out of thought. I really, really don't want to. "I can't," I say. Suddenly, the excitement in the room turns to dust. "What do you mean you can't? Are you serious?" Arthur says.
"Arthur, you know that Chloé is mad at me, no?"
"Stop, you know she is not mad at you at all. It's you who puts that in your head." What a dumb lie to a statement he doesn't even have an answer to. Basile, very clearly panicked, says, "Lucas, you can't do that to me, alright? And you weren't even here for my birthday." He may have a point.
"Ah, that's true that. He has a point." Basile says, taking the words right out my thoughts. I run it over. I really don't wanna mess anything more up with my friends, they hate me enough for disappearing on them. I guess it's an excuse to get drunk. "Alright," I say, hesitantly. I might regret my decision sooner or later. "Alright? Let's go...?" Basile had no idea what I was implying. I delay my response, "...yes." They cheer and celebrate around me as I keep thinking about the dumb decision I've made. Basile starts to chant Daphné's name, making me start to regret the choice to bring him. Arthur joins in too, hyping him up. I sigh and start to move from my lazy, slouching stance. "Guys, this will be the best party ever!" Arthur, screaming at this point, exclaims. "Let's go!" I hear, I turn around to Basile saying, "Gang check!" everyone is already out the room and Bas is left there with his hands still waiting on a high five. This happens too often. I walk past him, he slowly brings his arms back down to a slump. I hate this night already.

"So, Did you hear that? Did you hear that? Did you hear that? Did you hear that?" Basile is screaming at the top of his lungs, "I'm the only one who hears that? Oh dear!" We're walking along the street, just about reaching the house. We turn into the gate, Basile is still more hyped than everyone. We walk into the front yard, there are the normal groups of people, keeping to their own groups, drinks in hand. "We are here to have a great night!" Basile screams, still way too hyped. He said it into people's faces, you'd think he's already wasted. "But you know no one-" Arthur says.
"It's not the question to know someone or not!" Basile says. I can't believe him right now. "We are here, we make the ambience, that's great." He adds. "Are you ready?" Basile says, his hand lingering in a fist, an inch away from the door. "We are here to have fun aren't we?!" Basile knocks on the door as he shouts, for the last time... I hope. The door swings open. A tall man dressed in a black suit answers the door, definitely an intimidating bouncer. Basile, still excited as ever, continues to shout and not seem intimidated by the bouncer at all. "We are some of Chloé's friends!" He says, starting to welcome himself into the house. The guy stands in the way as Basile is pushed back by him. "That's not going to be possible guys." He says, towering over us.
"Who are you?" Basile asks, a dumb question at its finest, but I guess that's all questions that come out of Basile's mouth. I found it the perfect opportunity to head back, a way for them not to be mad at me and I get to avoid Chloé. "Let's go, guys, just leave," I say, expecting them to understand and start to move back. Arthur is seeming as excited as Basile at this point, "No! That looks wicked!" Who even says wicked nowadays? "Come on!" He adds.
Not like Basile has done enough damage, but he starts shouting again, "Daphné!" He begins.
I start to sigh. He tries to get Daphné's attention as he spots her behind the bouncer.
"Daphné! Daphné! Daphné! Yes!" He exclaims, eventually getting Daphné's attention.
"Can you tell him to let us in, please? Clearly, he doesn't know who we are." He makes it sound like we're some world famous band. This girl, out of nowhere, approaches the front door. She seems to be heading straight to Basile. Oh, it's that girl from the party I met Chloé at. Great. "Hey, you're the dude that held my hair last time! At Emma's party!" She says, sounding happier than what you would expect. Basile quickly denies her words, he's such a try hard for Daphné. "Nope," He just plainly says.
"Yeah, so you basically just hold back any girl's hair?" Daphné says.
"No, no, no, no!" Basile replies, he sounds so panicked.
"Yeah that's it, you dickhead," Daphné says, moving away from the door and into the crowd of people in the hallway.
I thought it was a dumb thing to be hating each other over, but maybe I just don't understand what goes through girl's minds. Or maybe I just plain out don't understand girls. Basile moves in closer to the door again. "No Daphné, wait!" He gets pushed back by the bouncer once again. "Stay put dude, please." The guy says, Basile nearly falls into Arthur from the contact. "Chill out bro. Jealousy's always a good sign." Arthur says. Even I know that's not true, but Basile is gullible enough to believe it's like the movies and TV shows. "Really?" Basile replies.
"Sure! Did you see how she looked at you? You should! She was sooooo into you!" Arthur lies, I could tell by the tone of his voice that he was lying. Or because it's just a known fact it's not true. I look up for a second, peering over the bouncer's shoulder, into the mist of the party. In the hallway of which Daphné just disappeared through, Eliott, dancing and seemingly talking to someone. My mind took over and suddenly I was pushing past the tall bouncer who didn't really try hard to keep me out. "You can't get in!" He shouts, he seems to give up after that. I can hear the rest of the gang murmur about my actions outside, if anything, they're going to try but easily get pushed back. I know it will happen. Suddenly, I'm shoving people left and right, losing track of where he was and where I am. The place is packed, and I'm finding it hard to navigate. I pause. He's there, standing, leaning against a wall. He's in a casual stance with his hands in his pockets. I tilt my head around a few people to see who he's talking to. Lucille? I didn't want to admit to myself what I was seeing. I sat there staring, maybe for too long because, by that time, Chloé had found me. "Really?! You have no right to be here!" Chloé shouts at my face. I stay unphased, I knew this was coming. I start to explain myself, "Look, I'm sorry about last time. We were stupid for leaving like that."
She interrupts me, "Oh no, I'm not pissed about last time!" There's a relief in my heart, but my guts telling me it's not over. "I'm mad at you for treating me like like a fool. Because you used me when you're gay!" Everything freezes. My heart speeds up as I panic on the words that came out her mouth. How did she know about me and Eliott? Did Eliott tell her? Eliott must've told her, and ran off with Lucille again thinking this was all some fucking joke. "What're you saying?" I'm trying to play it off, but she's already screaming it out to the world. "You're gay, Lucas!" She seems more sure about that statement than I am. I try again, "What're you talking about?" She scoffs and turns away from me, leaving in a slouch. I stand there, emotionless and blank. All feelings have escaped from my mind and suddenly I don't feel myself anymore. My heart aches as I feel my face heat up and blush. Flustered, I turn back around and head out. As I reach the door again, all three of them are trying to sweet talk the bouncer to the best of their ability. It definitely isn't working. I haven't had this much anger in years, I take some out on the bouncer, shoving his arm to the side and showing myself out the party. I hit Yann in the process too. They all look at me confused as they ask me questions repeated when I'm just trying to leave. "Let me go, for fuck sake!" I push them all away. They bring up the excuse I use all the time to hang out with Eliott, "It must be a family issue." I turn back and suddenly it's a physical fight. I punch Arthur's glasses in as I get pushed down the patio steps by all three of them. "Leave!" They shout, and I do, stumbling to the gate through the front yard, looking back at them. I look around to the side of the house. Eliott's there with Lucille of course. Eliott has his hands cupped around Lucille's face as he leans in for a kiss. That was where I had to draw the line.
I march out the gate without looking back. I move until I'm speed walking, just through the street I was in with my friends just ten minutes ago, without any arguments. My emotions are overflowing and I'm breaking down in public. My anger hits a wall, all because I couldn't hold it back. I punch and punch, screaming off my head so loudly the locals must be concerned. I turn, my back again the wall as I move down. Leaning against the wall, I hug my knees as the only comfort, my hand throbs as the pain increases. My tears stream down to my neck, filling my mouth with a salty taste. And I just sit there. My unharmed hand is now covered in blood, from cradling the pain and sorrow of the opposite. I'm left there staring into the distance. The feeling lasts a few minutes, the minutes may have turned into hours. But I don't check my phone anyway. I sync myself with my mind, the thoughts running through my head are racing, the thought Olympics 2019, I guess. I pant, my heavy breaths leave a pain in my chest like heartbreak. I guess this is what it feels like. Maybe this is what Chloé is like. Suddenly, I understand girls a bit more.———————————————————————
