Novak nodded. "You're circumstances are just strange to him. Believe it or not he's actually much more useful than he looks." He said grinning as he released Wren and looked over at gear who was still lost in a world of illegal tech. "Like a damn child with new toys." Novak joked.
Ben cleaned up quickly and got dressed in his normal plain clothes that he'd picked up from his house while he was out. He grabbed her several outfits before heading to her bathroom. He knocked on the door. "I grabbed you a few options to choose from but if you don't like em let me know. I didn't know what you wanted to wear." He said setting her clothes on the sink like she'd asked with a blush as he made an effort to not stare at her. He'd already messaged the security team to let them know they'd be leaving and where they were going.
Wren blinked when he let go of her and looked over at Gear then. "He seems useful to me." She reasoned. He had asked about her and tried to help. And all of these tools had to be here for a reason. And she was willing to let him try to help her if he wanted to.
Vinyl stopped the water then and laughed from behind the glass. "I'm not picky." She reiterated as she started ringing her hair out.
Novak nodded. "Find anything useful?" He asked Gear. (She'll warm up to us and start giving us shit eventually.) He thought amused by the idea of her cracking jokes.
"Oh yeah I can make some pretty awesome shit from this stuff." He said grinning as he stood up. But first things first. I need to see what I can do to ease Ms Wren's pain. Her augmentations weren't put in properly so I'm going to see if there's anything I can do. I'm not a big fan of the idea of no anesthetics but with her pain receptors she's got to be in tremendous amount of pain constantly."
Ben nodded. "Well that's a relief." He said with a chuckle. "I let the security team know that we'll be leaving soon so they'll be here soon." He added on his way out. (This job isn't so bad. Especially when I get the hang of it.) He thought.
Wren smiled weakly at him. "Well i could at least show you what youre working with. And then youd know what youd need to help. Or even if you can help." She reasoned, not wanting to be a bother. She hadnt expected him to drop everything to take time helping her. Nor was she trying to get the attention on her. And she felt guilty.
Vinyl smiled and shook her head. "Its a secret gig. Youre going to drive us. And were going to meet security there." She reasoned with amusement. "And we leave in like an hour."
Gear nodded. "Well then let's get right down to business then." He said clapping his hands with barely contained excitement. "I have to admit I'm interested in knowing what all you have."
Novak shook his head. "Calm down there Skippy. Don't get too giddy." He said flatly. (She's not a fucking science experiment.) He thought irritably.
Ben chuckled. "Well I figured they would know the drill so I just said we'd be going to the secret gig." He said grinning. (Yeah nailed it.) He thought happily.
Wren smiled shyly then. "Im afraid its not going to be anything terribly interesting." She reasoned as she walked over to the table to sit on it. She assumed it would be easier that way. And she also figured it would be best to go through all of her surgeries in order then to get confused. Which also meant starting with one of the most painful. She pulled novaks shirt down to make sure she was covered before hopping onto the table. She was very self conscious about her facial reconstruction and she knew novak wasnt here for her explanation of her accident so this would all be coming out of context. "Firstly is my eye." She explained. She reached up then and pulled the cover off of her eye to reveal. A solid red dot covering her pupil and Iris, glowing like a lazer beam. "I have to take that off before my face plate." She explained, setting it down. She reached up then and put her fingers on the pressure points on her face, removing a skin plate from her face. It went from her hairline all the way to her cheekbone and then finally the side of her nose. The edges of what was left behind had small metal hooks and sensors to connect the face plate to her muscle structure. But what was in the center was gruesome. There was an obvious space around her eyeball, nothing there to help support it besides what it was attached to in the back. A thin layer of manmade mesh muscle translucently covered the steel layer of bone. The bone plate was connected by her own original muscle around the sides with large staple-like pieces of metal. But the gap between the small childlike metal plate and her own muscle was over an inch and her muscle was being stretched by the staples tightly. There were large visible screws about as big around as a thumb holding the metal plate into her skull. She knew it had to be awful. But she hadnt seen it except for once when she was still in the hospital. So her red eye eerily followed her normal one to the floor with embarassment while she displayed her face to them.
