"Serena, darling, wake up." A fairly young woman glanced back at her 15 year old daughter with a smile as she gently shook her leg.
The girl shifted as she opened her eyes a bit to be greeted by a low sun hanging in the sky as it slowly inched upward.
She rubbed some sleep from her eyes "are we there yet?" She moaned as she looked at her mom who glanced at her from the front passengers seat.
With a smile she nodded "yup, now let's start taking some stuff out, okay?" Serena smiled lightly at her mom before glancing to her still asleep brother.
Rolling her eyes she shook her brother's shoulder causing him to wake up "Aj, wake up, we're here." He looked to his sister and gave her a lazy look before mumbling and open the car door when it had stopped driving and was now stopped in front of a fairly large house.
Climbing out as well she went to the back and opened it while grabbing a large box with her valuables, her brother doing the same.
Making sure that she had a good grip she walked side by side with her brother and gave him a small smile as she nudged him slightly because of the grumpy face he was making.
When they walked up to the steps he nudged her back with a smirk just as their parents walked up the steps and used the new key on the door.
When they went into the house all the furniture was set up, all that needed to be done was to paint and decorate and it will be all done for them to settle in.
Smiling Serena walked to the stairs "come on let's set up the rooms!" She said as she walked up the stairs with her brother right behind her.
After a while of looking Serena settled for the room which had its window facing the streets out front and a queen sized mattresses, her brother had the room across from her's which was almost the same except he had a medium single bed.
Her mom and dad of course took the master bedroom which had its window facing the fairly sized backyard.
Everyone was soon helping around the house and setting up the valuables that they had in other boxes from the car while they had some small snacks from a carry-on cooler.
By the time everything was in place as they wanted it to be it was already lunch time "anyone want takeout?" Serena's mom hollered as she held a phone in her hand.
"Yeah!" Was the only answer she needed before looking over the phone book and finding a Chinese takeout restaurant would only take 45 minutes to get to their house.
The family waited until Serena's mom walked back into the room and sat on the couch "when's the food gonna get here mom?" Serena's asked while looking up from her new drawing book which was one of many that she had.
She smiled at her daughter "about 45 minutes, that's all." Serena's nodded before getting up from the chair she was on and walking to the stairs.
But before she made it up the first step the doorbell chimed cheerfully through out the house "I'll get it!" Serena yelled as she jumped off the step and ran to the door.
Taking off the chain quickly she opened the door to see two adults and a young boy who looked around the age of 12, the mother holding a basket filled with lots of different types of food.
The mother smiled "why hello," she said, a Spanish accent clear when she spoke "we'd like to welcome you to the neighborhood and to Jasper, Navada." She held out the basket just as Serena's parents stood beside her.
Serena's mom smiled and took the gift "oh thank you! Would you like to come in?" She asked as the to parents in front of the doorway smiled "of course." The father spoke as Serena and her parents moved form the doorway to let the other family in.
