I chose to love your entirety; not only the good things about you, not just your sunrise and sunsets and rainbows, but also all the grey clouds that hover over you and the storms you are capable of bringing. I have always seen you as a lovely white rose and yes, to my eyes, you epitomize, beauty, cleanliness and serenity. But even a white rose as pure as you casts a dark shadow. All of us do. And I have always known that. The day I told you I love you, I have been ready for whatever darkness you hold inside. Should your most kept secrets and darkness reveal themselves when you feel like the light you've been emitting fades, please don't think that I won't understand. Or that I will leave you for it. Or that I will hate you for it. Or that I will make you hate yourself for it. I'll learn to embrace it as it's a part of the person I have chosen to love. And here's to hoping you'll think the same thoughts and do the same things when you finally see the monsters I have deep within me.
