Chapter 15: The Fortuneteller

Author greeting: So back when I first got into the Naruto series, I learned about a Japanese album in which the Japanese cast of Naruto had to sing various songs that the Naruto series featured IN CHARACTER! I had all ready watched all of Part 1 dubbed and subbed by this point, so I was highly impressed that Junko Takeuchi could sing so well as Naruto! Anyway, you may not see the video on top of this note... but the video itself works. [I checked before publishing] If I could make this story into it's own anime, fan made or officially licensed, I think I'd make Naruto's version of Tsubomi from Naruto movie 3 the first intro of the series. It just sounds like a funny idea to have the main character himself sing the intro to his own show! Naruto also sung another song in the album... but I'll show that video on this story another time. [I used to the othrr intro song that Naruto sung in the original anime since it didn't seem to fit the tone of the arc... but the goofy but fun sounding cover from the king of cheerful, Naruto himself is SUPER hard to dislike, I really like Naruto's cover of the other song.] Anyway, without further ado, time to start the retelling of The Fortuneteller.

Naruto and friends were at a lake. While Aang, Sokka, and Katara sat around a bundle of sticks with a blue tent behind Katara, Naruto was training with Gamariki in dispelling genjutsu after he had enough chakra in his Toad Stone to summon him. Naruto finally was able to escape from Gamariki's illusions.
"YES" Naruto cheered. When Naruto walked back towards his friends, Katara had just put on some kind of necklace Aang had made for her using Sokka's fishing line.
"So, how do I look?" Katara had asked. Aang looked at Katara with awe and amazement. Aang nervously pulled the color of his shirt and smiled nervously. Naruto had noticed that this was similar to how Shikamaru described Asuma Sensei looking at Kurenai Sensei.
'It's the same because Aang is into Katara the same way you once were into Sakura.' The Nine Tails stated.
"You mean, all of you or just your neck?" Aang asked nervously before adding, "I mean, because they both look great!" At that moment, Sokka who had been chasing a fish in the lake, emerged from the water holding the fish he had been chasing.
"Smoochie, smoochie, someone's in love!" Sokka teased. Sokka then promptly started to make kissing noises before the fish broke from Sokka's grasp. The fish slapped Sokka in the face with it's tail before going back into the water.
"I... well... uh." Aang started to say before Naruto started laughing. Poor Aang looked so flustered that it amused Naruto.
"Stop teasing him, Sokka. Aang's just a good friend." Katara told Sokka in annoyance before she patted the side of his head.
"A sweet, little guy! Just like Momo." Katara added before she started to pet Momo, who had landed on Aang's shoulder. Naruto sighed, he knew what it was like to get friendzoned by the girl he once had feelings for. Sakura had friendzoned him lots of times.
"Thanks." Aang said, clearly deflated by what had just happened. Sokka walked out of the water, upset and leaving the water empty handed. A loud noise emerged in the distance, getting Naruto's attention. Momo flew off Aang's shoulder and leaped onto a rock. Aang followed Momo, followed by Naruto, curious about what was going on. Aang then pointed at the source of the commotion.
"Someone's being attacked by a platypus bear!" Aang yelled urgently.
"Platypus bear... I am never going to get used to the weird mixed animals in this world!" Naruto commented as he and Aang went to the man who was dodging the constant swipes of the platypus bear. Naruto found himself to be very impressed that the man was able to dodge the bear's powerful strikes so easily.
"Well, hello there. Nice day isn't it?" the man dodging the platypus bear's attacks greeted calmly.
"Make noise, he'll run off." Aang suggested.
"No, play dead. He'll lose interest." Sokka suggested as he and Katara ran to the scene. Naruto shook his head.
"I don't wanna hurt you weird bear thing... but here goes." Naruto stated as he put his fingers in the t position once again.
"Shadow Clone Jutsu!" A few Naruto clones poofed into existence. The clones surrounded the platypus bear and kicked it into the air.
"Na ru to..." Naruto leaped into the air and kicked the platypus bear back to the ground.
"Uzumaki Barrage!" The clones then caught the bear and set it down. The bear looked at the real bear in anger before the Nine Tails leaked some chakra out of Naruto, scaring the platypus bear away. It jumped out of the clones' arms and ran as fast as it could.
"SORRY TO DO THAT TO YOU WEIRD BEAR THINGY!" Naruto yelled as it ran off, his chakra back to normal. When the platypus bear saw that Naruto was back to normal, it charged but Appa arrived and let out a large protective grunt. The platypus bear layed in eye in fear and went into the river, swiming away... if one could understand the thoughts of the platypus bear.. you'd find that it thought, I vow never to persue people in orange again... they have scary monsters EVERYWHERE!'
