(13) PLOT TWIST

"DR BARNES DR BAKER PLEASE REPORT TO THE ER" the nurse said into the intercom. 

James and Lucas were on the surgery floor filling out their surgery notes. They looked at each other "What the hell?' James said as they closed their charts and headed down to the ER to be met by Connor and Brady.

"Dad I am so sorry I looked a way for a split second they were racing their dirt bikes on the track the next minute I looked up to see them on the ground" Brady said 

James and Lucas walked over to see both Bucky and Caitlin on beds. "What the hell happened boys? You know to watch them when they ride their bikes you know how they get on them." Lucas said 

Dr Jameson walked in "Lucas James..they are fine they both have a concussion and some bruised ribs." as he hands them their scans. 

A few minutes later Caitlin started to come to "Daddy." she said when she opened her eyes. 

He hugged "oh baby girl don't scare me like that." 

"I'm sorry.." she whispered then looked over at Bucky. 

"James.. is he okay daddy?' she said 

"Yeah baby he's fine just like you he has a concussion." Lucas said 

"Oh.." she said 

They admitted both of them then put them in the same room. Alice and Winnie put their beds together. A few hours later Bucky woke up "Dad..I'm sorry I.." 

"No more dirt bike racing do you understand me" James said

Bucky looked over at Caitlin "Is she okay?" he said

"Yeah she's fine she's been awake she just fell back to sleep." Lucas said 

"I'm gonna go get you something eat son I'll be back." James said as Lucas went to go check on patients. 

"Caitlin I am so sorry..so sorry." he whispered as he grabbed her hand. 

She looked up at him "I'm okay I'm just glad that you are okay. You were out a lot longer than me." 

He smiled at her "I should of stopped the race when it started to rain and when you tried to tell me that we needed to stop." he said

"You think.." she said 

"Shut up I just woke up and I have concussion I don't need your sarcastic attitude." he said 

A few days later Bucky was laying in his bed twirling his football when his dad came in "Hey son you know that you need to be packing soon right." 

"Yeah.." he said 

"Everything okay.. you have been quiet since the accident. Which is unlike you James." James said 

He looked down and said "Dad I'm sorry for being such a problem child." 

"James you are not a problem child. Sure you have a smart mouth and you back talk a lot but you aren't a problem child. Every teenager goes through this phase." James said

"Caitlin doesn't " he said 

"Yeah she has her moments I have had many conversations with Lucas while we are at the office in between patients about you two. Where is this coming from anyways?' James said 

Bucky looked down and said "I had a dream while I was out." 

"What happened in your dream that makes you think that you are problem child?' James said 

"I um I wouldn't listen to you or mom and I got myself into a lot of trouble. I did stuff to Caitlin that hurt her when all she was trying to do was help me but in my dream I went to my first high school party and had sex with two girls one of them got pregnant cause I was to drunk and high to remember a condom. I became addicted to weed extacsy Xanax and pain pills and sex. I didn't want to be with the girl and she became best friends with Caitlin who basically did my job and it wasn't until the girl had the baby that I finally got sobered up and um I had sex with Caitlin at the end of it." he said 

"Well let's hope that doesn't happen.." James said as he tapped Bucky's leg.

"Why would I have dream like that?'he said

"You are probably just nervous about starting high school. " James said 

"Oh okay." he said 

James left the room and Bucky started to pack his bag for the big family summer vacation trip to Lake Tahoe that they always go every summer.
