"TRAITORS! ALL OF YOU HAVE BETRAYED THE MERFOLK! SHAME ON YOU!"Nimue shouted
"WE HAD NO CHOICE! IT'S HOW WE CAN GET FOOD! We are not close enough to just swim over to another in five minutes and grab a bite to eat!" Ingerma shouted back
"SILENCE! Be seated at once and not another word. Since the Saltwater tribe has become the Sirensong tribe they are no longer a part of the united colonies of merpeople. Seeing they have chosen to no longer be merpeople. Remember you only have one year to turn away from being a siren. Does anyone disagree with this judgment?" Zoraida announced. The room stayed silent except for the wave crashing on the nearby shore. The silence was broken by Sybella, the prophetess, standing.
"You may speak only if you have received a prophecy." Zoraida seated herself awaiting the prophetess to speak.
"I have received a prophecy from the high ones!" Sybbella's voice changed to a voice of many and her eyes glowed,
"ONE OF SONG SO SWEET,
SHALL BE BURNED BY FIRES HEAT.
BY HUMAN HANDS MADE A CAPTIVE,
A FRESHWATER SAVOIR BECOMES ACTIVE."
"Does that mean..." Nimue began but was interrupted by Ingerma
"How about we end the meeting. Everything has been discussed." Everyone agreed and obediently went their separate ways. The merfolk trained everyone so that they should all be prepared when one was chosen for the prophecy. The sirens taught their children to fear the powerful humans above. But no matter how hard they prepared. No one would be ready.
