Part 10

You pulled on one of your favourite jumpers and grabbed your earphones as you walked out your apartment towards the park café. You were extremely nervous, he said he had to tell you something, but you already knew it was about him being in a band, he couldn't hide that secret forever, well, you already found out.

A few minutes later, you arrived at the café. You saw Reece sitting in a corner table.

"Y/N... Hi" Reece said.

"Hey Reece, how are you?" You asked.

"Um... I'm ok thank you. Had an extremely busy day."

"Sorry I had to drag you out here to talk to you. I should have just called..."

"It's no problem, don't worry! Ok, so we both have to tell each other something right?" Reece asked.

"Yes, we do. Shall we just say it at the same time?"

"We could do."

"Ok..."

"3..."

"2..."

"1..."

"I'm not sure about dating again." You said.

"I like you." Reece said.

"Oh..."

"Oh my goodness, Reece I'm so sorry."

"No Y/N, I'm sorry. Are you ok?"

"Um... lets just say my last relationship didn't go so well..."

"Oh god, I'm so sorry to hear that. Do you want a drink? I feel like we will need to discuss some things, if that's ok with you?" Reece asked with a sad expression on his face.

"If that's ok, thank you." You smiled.

After Reece got you both a cup of tea, you decided it would be easiest to explain everything to Reece.

"So, basically... I had a really abusive last relationship. He would manipulate me and use me in so many different ways. Then when I tried to leave him, he would... he would..." You couldn't stop the tears that were streaming down your face. Reece turned towards you and wrapped you in a big bear hug.

"It's ok... take deep breaths. You don't have to tell me everything."

You sighed and dried your tears with your hoodie sleeve.

"Yeah, so that's what happened. Anyway... I don't know if I can be in another relationship. The thing is Reece, I really like you too. You are sweet, charming, and such a stunner..."

"It's ok! And you must be talking about yourself there love..." Reece said with a smile.

You smiled back at him. You thought really hard. Should you take a chance with Reece? He seems like the opposite to Charlie, definitely. Oh for god's sake, you might as well pull yourself together. Maybe Reece could get rid of all your nightmares, all your pain, hopefully forget all about Charlie...

"You know what Reece, lets do this."

"Wait... what do you mean? You said you weren't ready? I won't force you into anything you don't want to be a part of!"

"I changed my mind. I really like you Reece. So, lets give us a go!" You said with a smile.

"That's great news! You wont regret this Y/N."

"Ok, so the other day I may have found out you were in a band..."

"New Hope Club?"

"That's the one." You smiled. "Will I clash with anything? Your touring, your music writing?"

"Y/N don't worry, we can work it out." Reece said with a massive grin on his face.

"Are we officially a thing then?" You asked, excited.

"I mean, if you are ready?"

"Of course, I'm ready." You said.

You didn't know what decision you just made, but it was going to change your life...
