I wake up. It's relatively early; around 6 am. I faintly remember falling asleep while watching Monsters Inc. with Chase. How did I get into bed? And where is Charlie? I don't think she came home last night.

After quickly taking a shower, I get dressed: maroon pants with a torn up Misfits sweater. I decide on leaving my hair down, showing off the red streaks.

Around ten, I head down to the gate to meet Chase.

Chase's POV

I made sure to look my best today. I wanted to prove to her that I was more than just a play toy. Show her what she was missing out on.

After washing up, I make an effort to shave and do my hair. I honestly just quiff it, which I hadn't done in a while and took some time to get right. Then I throw on some black skinny jeans and a Misfits tank. I grab my vans and a jumper and head out to meet Avery.

All the trouble I went through this morning is worth it when I see her face. She looks up from her phone when I walk up and I see her goggle.

"Oh, out your tongue back in your mouth Porter.

-Haha you wish... wait! I don't even know your last name!

-I know, I'm such a mystery..." I trail off.

She takes a moment to look me up and down. Then, randomly starts giggling at me.

"Whaa?"

She just points at my shirt. I look down and realize she is wearing the exact same one, just in the form of a jumper. She composes herself just enough to add:

"Here, I'll go change.

-No, don't, I grab her wrist before she can leave. I see her flinch. Sorry, here look."

I pull off my shirt.

"Wow there, a little warning would have been nice, she complains.

-Uh huh."

Though she says otherwise, I can feel her eyes looking me over, clearly with satisfaction. I flip my shirt inside out and put it back on.

"There, just a plain black tank now.

-Ya, no worries people will just think you were too tired to get dressed properly.

-Funny. So you were the one who invited me out here. Care to enlighten me as to your plan?

-Nope. Follow me."

She leans down and grabs a big black case. A guitar? Why the hell is she toting a guitar around the city? I guess I'll soon find out.

Avery's POV

I honestly have no idea where I'm going, but I can't let Chase know that! I walk ahead, trying to put an air of confidence to my step.

We come to an intersection bustling with people. This will do. I walk over to an overhang on the sidewalk and set up shop. Basically I just pull out my guitar and leave the case open in front of us.

"Avery? Care to explain?"

Instead of answering his question I just start playing. People have started paying attention. Chase isn't understanding my hints. I keep giving a look that clearly say "start singing or all these people are just going to think your stupid standing there". I've had to repeat the intro a few times now. I hope he gets the message soon. Or else I'm going to have to start singing.

Chase's POV

Avery ambushes me with this little stunt. Little does she know how bad my stage fright is. I can't do this. I won't. She keeps nudging me with the end of her guitar. I just look at her and shake my head. All these people staring. She huffs. Next thing I know, someone starts singing.
