Okay so I really hate this chapter but I haven't uploaded in ages, and I felt like I really needed to... so I'm sorry for this but.... here you go! (Sorry for any misspellings:)
Avery's POV
So you know those seemingly unimportant parts in stories? When time sort of flies by because nothing really interesting happens? Those times in life where you can't really pin point what exactly happened, because in the grand scheme of thing, they really didn't matter?
Well... That's exactly what happens between the months of September and January. I'll spare you the details, because in reality, they will add nothing to my story... nothing I describe is worth your time.
Halloween came and went. Chase had insisted on spending a night with everyone watching horror movies, much to my dismay.
Thanksgiving passed, not that anyone here actually celebrated. I thought it was appropriate do do something festive. Which basically means I ate a turkey leg in my room alone.
Christmas was surprisingly a huge deal here. At a certain point I had just stopped caring about all these holidays. Most people counted down the days until they could spend the day scaring children, pigging out or tearing through piles of presents... but not me. They kind of lost their whole appeal when you didn't seem to have anyone to share them with.
I had celebrated the New Year with the guys. Unsurprisingly I had fallen asleep before the special hour, but hadn't minded.
This leaves one more "holiday". The day I came into this world, kicking and screaming all the way. Yes, you guessed it... I, Avery Roxanne Porter have spent 17 years on this lovely planet.
It is now Tuesday, January 24, and I guess I just turned 17.

"No it's called a French Fry!""Chip."
"Fry."
"You know either way, it tastes the same to me" Alfie inserts into the debate currently taking place between Chase and I.
From beside me, Nate shouts out"Amen!", and digs into the pile of fried potato in front of him. Dinner was admittedly more animated with these three.
While I was quietly observing the three of them, Chase's eyes had drifted to a leggy brunette a table over. Seemingly entranced he doesn't respond to me calling his name. Laughing at his typical guyness, I throw a French Fry and hit him smack in the forehead.
He snaps out of it and turns back to me. "Someone catch your eye?" I tease.
He fires right back, "Why, you jealous Aves?"
Desperately hiding the warmth flooding it my cheeks I scoff, "Of course not."
"Just admit it, you want some of this," he gestures to his body.
"Ha. You wish," I roll my eyes.
He continuously smirks in my direction, "Why yes, yes I do."
"And we all know it" huffs out Alfie from across he table.
"What was that blondie?" snarls out Chase.
Looking from side to side, Alfie mutters, "Oh come on..." Getting confused looks he carries on, "It's so obvious, Mister Punk over here has a thing for Avery."
All goes silent.
Nate decides to clear his throat and Chase regains his stature.
"Sure..." he drawls out sarcastically.
