you received a letter from the delivery boy on a fine sunday morning and , one of the richest people you knew was throwing a ball and had invited you and your family. you gave the letter to your father immediately and left to go back to your room. you spend most your time in there either playing piano or playing violin. your room was covered in painting that you had done onto the plain white walls. everywhere you looked, a new image was there. if you were ever out the house, you would be shopping in the market with your family. if you were ever out alone, you would be going to visit your brother, edward's, grave or you would have snook out at night to go to the pubs in town. you were considered a middle class family as you had a lot of money and your father had a dress making factory. you always went out as the maids were on your side. they all trusted you and acted as if they didn't know anything except kate, she was older and always told your father if you had done something you shouldn't have. you grabbed your white hat and put it on over your head and grabbed your basket of flowers and brushing your baby blue dress down to cover your riding boots from anyone seeing. you opened the court door and heard a voice behind you,

"and your going where?" your mother asked

"to see edward" you looked down

"stay safe darling" she smiled going back into the lounge

you went out and closed the door stepping down the stone stairs and running down the drive trying not to fall over and running to the stables. you grabbed your reins and put them on your brown coloured horse. you used the saddle step to get onto the horse. you were supposed to ride side-saddled but you disobeyed and rode 'like a man' with both legs over. you moved the reins and the horse started running down towards the main town. once in town you moved your legs to the side and got off walking the horse in, holding the reins. as it was a sunday, the market was full of people. you took the horse straight through the centre as carriage men looked at you. a couple that you knew got out of there carriage as you hid behind your horse. you bumped into a man and he dropped his brown book, gladly you went to pick it up apologising over and over again

"i'm so sorry, i wasn't watching were i was going" you and the hand connected on the book and your eyes met

"oh mr.polidori, i didn't expect to see you here so early" you let go and rose back to your feet

"are those boots i see miss.parker?" he taunted being your age

"oh lord" you pulled your dress down to cover them as he laughed

"i was just coming to get some paints, where are you off too?" he smiled being polite

"i'm just going to see someone" you stroked your horse

"do you mind if i come along, i've got all morning till my parents get back" he asked

"of course, sir" you smiled going with him to get his paint

"right, let's go now i've done dealing" he followed you out of town, sneaking with the horse

once you were both out of town, you stepped onto the horse throwing you leg over as john stood in shock wide-eyed.

"your riding like a man?" he asked raising his eyebrows

"oh come on polidori, you've never see a women ride a horse?" you held out your hand to help him on

"not like that" he grabbed your hand sitting behind you, grabbing your waist to hold on

"get over it" you laughed as the horse galloped down the path towards the fields.
