you sat in your school lesson listening to your professor talking about the transferred ice hockey team and their recent match that was played yesterday. the team was popular and started off obnoxious. you started off not liking the stuck up team as they were mean to your friends. it got a couple weeks in then it all changed. ben, the captain of the ice hockey team found you alone in the theatre after school one night. you had the music from the computer blaring over the speakers, it played your favourite song called tokyo by the wombats. they weren't a very popular band but you enjoyed the song for no specific reason until you opened your eyes and saw ben looking at the speaker sat on the stage with a cigarette in his hand.

"uh, sorry!" you scrambled towards the computer and paused the song standing above him

"i'll, i'll go, sorry about this" you went to walk past him when he stood in front of you

"no, it's ok, it's just me" he smiled down at you as you placed you bag back down in a sort of trance

"oh, so you don't mind?" you grabbed a ribbon and some pins trying to distract yourself

"not at all" he played the song again and stood next to you while you pinned up the ribbon for tomorrow's presentation

you could help yourself but sing along to the words, you started to forget you was even around the hottest and most popular guy in school,

"i wear a suitcase under each one of my eyes
finally i know now what it takes, it takes money and airplanes" you sang with your eyes closed as you walked to the middle waiting for the chorus

"if you love me let me go!" you sang and suddenly opened your eyes remembering who you were with,

"back to that bar in tokyo! where the demons of my past leave me at peace!!" ben sang at the top of his lungs as you started at how beautiful he sounded

"you know this!?" you asked

"of course i know this!" he laughed as a smile grew on his face and yours started to do the same.

from that day on, you and ben became really good friends. one night a week he would come to your house or you would go to his to hang out or go to the local diner to grab something to eat. the strange part of the relationship was that no one knew anything. there were no signs these two unlikely opposites were friends. ben's friends had no clue and neither did yours. your friends, who were also guys, didn't like ben at all. in fact you would have said they despise him. you didn't tolerate it because you always left before they started talking and it all kicked off when one heard them talking and the whole group was in trouble. one day after school ben saw you leaving your science lesson and pulled you into the boys bathroom.

"what the hell ben!" you shouted as he looked at you

"i haven't seen you all day, i should be the one saying what the hell" he glared at you

"ok yeah true but what is this all about?" you looked up to his eyes

"i've got a ice hockey game tonight, i want you to be there, it's at five you would need a ticket but i'll get you in, if you say your with me, they should let you in. just be there please?" he smiled knowing you wouldn't say no
