James is home sitting down staring at the floor when Riley comes up
Riley: Are you okay? James: No, not really. I keep thinking about Linda. Riley: I could imagine something like that being really traumatizing. One second you're with friends having fun, the next you're in a fight for survival. James: I know.
James gets up and leaves the room. The following Monday James gets to school meanwhile, everyone's talking and spreading rumors about the encounter between Will and Linda.
Mrs. Stafford: Okay class settle down, we all know what happened Friday but please let's just try to get past it, what happened was a very scary situation and luckily no one was hurt but unfortunately a student was taken but she's safe now and is in the proper care.
These comments only get the students even more raddled
Mrs. Stafford: Class, please! Angel: I heard she was a gang member and they had her killed. Mrs. Stafford: No! Don't you watch the news? She's fine. Angel: Where is she? Mrs. Stafford: They didn't say.
Derek turns around to talk to James
Derek: Scary stuff huh? James: Yeah. Didn't even know it happened. Derek: I saw some of it but not all of it. We were freaking out. James: Yeah. I'm sure we're fine.
Later James is walking to his next class
Ian: Whatever you did over the weekend to save Linda, you did good. James: I didn't do anything. Ian: No, of course not, especially not with so many people around. She's safe now, that's what matters. James: I can't help but feel like I should be doing more. Ian: Like what? You did all you could. She's safe and in witness protection. It's out of our hands. James: I shouldn't have done it. Ian: Why? James: I went to the Guardian Elites for the info. I could've taken that information to the police instead I went out to look for her. I feel the pull. It'll be so easy to go back out there and try to stop the 100. Then I remember.
They walk for a bit before James accidentally bumps into a kid named Carlos
Carlos: Hey! Why don't you watch where you're going? James: Sorry man. Carlos: Yeah you better.
Carlos pushes James and walks away. James starts to move towards Carlos. Ian puts his arm on James' shoulder. James stops.
Ian: Hey, don't.
James gets Ian's arm off his shoulder.
James: Let's go.
Later during lunch, James walks to his hangout spot.
Briana: James is it true? Is Linda gone? James: That's what it said on the news? Witness protection took her somewhere. Briana: That's scary. What if the people who took her come after us because we saw it happen? Ian: No, of course not. Right James?
Ian looks at James who's spaced out.
James: Huh? No, no. They're probably halfway back to Metropolis by now.
Watson and Reed approach them.
Watson: Who's halfway back to Metropolis? James: We're talking about what happened Friday. Reed: I saw it happen. I had no idea what was going on though. Watson: I saw the news on it and they questioned some of the 100 gang members the cops arrested and a few of them said they were attacked. James: Did they say by who? Watson: No they couldn't get a good look at him. James: That's good. Watson: What do you mean? James: I'm just saying, because they don't know who did it, they can't go after the guy or girl.
