Bad Morning

A nice, easy, quiet morning. Perfect for breakfast in bed, or sleeping in later than usual. Birds would be singing, flowers would be sparkling with the rain from last night, and quiet snores would echo through the walls...

If you don't live in Castle Bleck, that is.

Mimi made a happy harpy screech as she sped down the hall and ran down the stairs. "PANCAAAAAAKES!"

O'Chunks heard, and he smiled as he changed from his pajamas to day clothes and walked downstairs, being much calmer than Mimi. Mimi saw him, and then jumped on his back like a soldier would with a horse. "ONWARD, MY NOBLE STEED!" she joked, and O'Chunks speed-walked down the stairs, earning some giggles from a happy spider lady.

When they got to the kitchen, they saw Nastasia making the aforementioned pancakes; 'best in the whole world' Mimi had called them. Nastasia looked over at them and smiled. She nodded at the table, hinting that the two should go set up. They got plates from the cabinets as well as silverware and napkins. O'Chunks, being the clumsy one that he is, carried the napkins and silverware instead of the ceramic plates.

Setting up the table was easy, they had done it many times before. Mimi then proceeded to put a cup at each placement, and brought coffee and tea to the table. Nastasia had finished the pancakes, so O'Chunks put two pancakes on each plate while Nastasia brought creamer and sugar cubes to the table. A little while later, Blumiere and Timpani arrived and they smiled at the food on the table. Timpani thanked Nastasia as they all sat down and ate. Nastasia, being the person she is, finished before anyone else. Seeing as there were two pancakes left, she put them on another plate and started to walk down the hall.

"Nastasia," Mimi called out, "where are you going?"

"Yeh Nassy, whatcha up t'?" O'Chunks added.

Nastasia turned around to face them. "He's definitely hungry too."

The sounds of forks and knives scraping against plates had stopped synchronously, and Timpani was now looking at Nastasia from the corner of her eye. Blumiere shuddered, and turned to Nastasia. "Just be careful, alright? We wouldn't want you to get hurt."

Nastasia nodded in understanding, and started down the hall again. Before she realized it, she was in front of His door. She felt a chill go down her spine as she knocked on the door lightly. As she expected, there was no answer. She knocked again, still none. She didn't want to, but she would be entering without permission this time. "Dimentio? I'm coming in, k'?" she warned as she pushed the door open slowly. She saw Dimentio sitting on the bed, reading a book. Still a bookworm, Nastasia thought as she walked over. He looked up from the book and backed up a little bit. "Calm down, I just have food," she told him, setting the plate and silverware on the nightstand.

Once she had taken a few steps back, Dimentio took the plate and slowly began to eat, he had considered it might be poisoned. When he had figured out it was not, he immediately dug in, he hadn't ate anything in days. Then again, he usually never needed it. Nastasia hid her surprise behind her glasses, Dimentio usually never finished his food when Team Bleck was still trying to 'renew' the worlds. Nastasia didn't notice she was staring until he had looked up from his plate. "Stop staring at me," he demanded, and Nastasia quickly looked to the floor.

"I'm sorry, I just... haven't ever seen you eat so quickly before."

"There's a first time for everything, is there not?"

"True, true."

Again, there was only silence as Dimentio ate the pancakes. Once he had finished, Nastasia held out her hands and Dimentio, being the magical gremlin he is, teleported the dirty plate and silverware into her hands. Nastasia had turned to leave, but was being held back by a small, black hand. Her breath hitched at the sudden touch, she was moderately afraid of what he would be doing now. Nastasia somewhat expected Dimentio to trap her in a box and laugh at her screams of terror, or maybe he would do something to hurt her, but he didn't. In fact, Dimentio did nothing near the sort. Instead, just one word:

"Stay."

Nastasia looked up from the floor, eyes wide under her glasses, and turned back to Dimentio with a chuckle.

"Uh, did I hear you correctly?"

"Yes. Please stay, I want someone here that isn't human or Bleck."

Nastasia turned her attention to the door again. He really isn't his normal self, she gathered, and looked back at him with a small nod. "Um, I'll come back after I wash the dishes, k'?" she proposed, and Dimentio nodded, bringing his hand back to his body. Nastasia opened the door, but she halted before it closed.

"Good morning, Dimentio."
