Repost number one:Done! This is rewritten, so I hope this seems different from the original. Going to make Nero a little less OOC in this one.

I lay on the couch, currently sitting inside of the shop, Devil May Cry, where my boyfriend Nero worked.
I'd been informed a week prior that he'd have to go on a mission out of Fortuna that his uncle Dante had said would take a day or two.

A day ago, I'd gotten a letter from Nero, sent from the last place they had a chance to rest at, explaning about the mission, and apologizing for taking so long. The demon had been tougher then they expected, and had made multiple escapes before they could finish it off.

I closed my eyes, and rubbed my face, hoping it ease my worries. I severely hoped I wouldn't have to spend the next few days sitting in the shop. To my relief, the bells on the shop's door rang, and I look up to see my white-haired partner and his boss.

I jump up and made my way other to him, enveloping him in a hug. "I was worried about you, jerk." Nero let out a small scoff, and shook his head. "I know, I know. I'm a little late." I let out a small laugh as Dante slipped past us, sitting himself in his chair and grabbing his magazine. "Either take that outside or I'll make you lovebirds leave." Dante said, not looking up from his reading material. We separated, not wanting to push our luck, and went outside.

The sun was high over our heads, the sky cloudless and a deep blue. A few people were out and about, taking time to run some errands or other mundane activities. Some people looked at us, disgusted as we held hands, but it was something we were used to.
After a couple hours of walking and talking, we decided to head back to the apartment that we shared. Grabbing my key to the apartment door, I open it and walk inside. I look back at Nero, and can tell that something's bothering him. "Nero, what's going through that head of yours?" I turn my body to face him and he shrugs it off. He'd been hiding something from me earlier, but I wasn't sure at the time. Now it was clear to me that something was up.
"(Y/N) it's nothing. I'm fine." His tone is pissy and I can tell he's hiding something. He tries to walk out of the room and I stop him.
"Nero, I'm not stupid. Something's wrong, and walking away from me isn't going to solve it."

He looked like he was going to burst. His face was red, and I could tell that he was on the verge of shouting. What surprised me was when it all fell away. His head hung down, his shoulders sagged, and he let out a heavy sigh.
"(Y/N), it's just....Why did you choose me?" He looked up at me, his sharp blue eyes now dulled with insecurity.
"I'm a monster. This-" He held up his Devil Bringer,"Should scare the hell out of you. I could hurt you one of these days, and I'd never forgive myself." A tear slipped down his cheek, and I took a step towards him, cupping his face. "Nero, I choose you because you're different from the other men I've met. You accept me, love me, and have even gone to the point to learn my past, which isn't a great one, to say the least." I run the pad of my thumb over his cheek, and he leans into it, bringing his own hand to cover mine.
"I saw your passion, your fire, your bravery, and it made me fall for you, harder then I've ever fallen before." I lean in and kiss his forehead, his nose, all the way down to his lips.
"Your arm doesn't affect the way I see you. It is part of the man I love, and I love it too. Please don't assume that you're a monster because of that. You are the most human person that I know, and I wouldn't trade you for the world."

He lets out a small sniffle and pulls me into his chest. I wrap my arms around him as he does the same, resting his chin on top of my head. He places a kiss on it, then kisses my cheek. "How did I get so lucky with you?" He smiles and looks at me, his eyes red and a bit dry-looking from crying.
"You're the man anyone would want, wrapped in one package. Just missing a bow and a gift tag." We both laugh at his joke, the mood in the living space a less tense then before and stand there a bit, just enjoying each other's company in quiet.
