The X

*a/n Tommy is my older brother! Hi Tommy!!

Tommy says I'm figuring things out
Things he never even thought about.

I've realized,
And he realized too,
That his future isn't set in stone
That he's a pebble tossed down a waterfall
Tumbling
Turning
Twisting
And churning through life only to plop at the bottom
With a
Plip

Plip

Plop

Into a huge ocean with rocks he never knew

He said he's finding himself.

On the map we call life he's still looking for the red pen which he'll eagerly mark X with
He's looking for who he will be

And it won't be me.

Because I am not the red pen,
Nor am I the X, Point A, the legend or key

I am not the compass

And it was hard to realize that you just need to let the map maker work

To mark their own X

Sometimes you want to take the pen,
Or jump along side then into the frothy sea
You want to taste the salt for yourself
You want to toil tirelessly for yourself

You say you have to you need to
But isn't that lying?

You have your own waterfall to crawl down
And your own map to mark

So let everyone else

Figure.
               Things.
                               Out.
