Empty

There was no light in my eyes
There were tears welling up
But not one emotion behind my cries
I don't know how it happened
My favorite song became white noise
And my smile fell
When I spoke, it wasn't my voice
I was too far away to speak
My mind wandered off into space
But didn't form a single thought
And I couldn't find a single trace
Of the burning in my leg
It just seemed to dissipate
Like every feeling I'd ever had
And in English, I didn't participate
Everything I did was unsatisfying
I felt like a shell
A hollow, empty log
Like I had no soul to sell
But I couldn't even feel hatred for it
I wasn't alive in that moment
For two hours, just aimlessly existing
Every limb and cell, every component
Had no purpose and no feeling
Just an hour prior there was plenty
But in just mere seconds
I became completely and utterly
