Over the upcoming weeks to the wedding, everyone had their hands full with planning. They organised venues, catering, guests, seating arrangements, the honeymoon, and the after party. There wasn’t one thing they left uncovered.
It was the day before the wedding and Isobelle and Luke were seeing each other for the last time before they met at the altar.
"Are you nervous?" Luke asked her.
"No. Are you?" she replied confidently.
"No." he said gazing into her eyes.
"I can't believe the next time I see you, you'll be in a tuxedo." Isobelle half laughed.
"Oi! It's not funny! I'll have you know that I look quite dashing in my tux." Luke winked at her.
Isobelle just giggled again. "I have no doubt that you do baby." She smiled.
"It's killing me not knowing what your dress looks like…" he told her.
Isobelle just smiled. "You'll love it."
"Can't you at least tell me what colour it is?"
"Nope. I'm not telling you anything. You will have to wait like the rest of the guests." Isobelle said as she kissed him lightly on the corner of his mouth.
Pulling her closer to him he whispered in her ear. "I love you Izzy."
"I love you too. More than you can imagine." She replied leaning against his warm comforting torso while being enveloped by his muscular arms.
Luke kissed the top of her head and smiled. All he could think about was that in 18 hours time, he would be placing the ring on Isobelle's finger and claiming her as his forever.
That night was the night of Luke's Buck night and Isobelle's Hen night. Although they were both super excited, they couldn’t help but worry about the other. Neither of them had said anything to the other about their concerns until now.
"Luke," she said as she pulled away from his embrace. "Don't do anything stupid tonight. Please."
Luke smiled down at his beautiful fiancé. "I won't. I've already instructed the boys on your requirements and they said they’ll stick to them."
"I know, it's not that I don't trust you and the boys, it's just that I'm a little jealous of the… dancers…" she said trying to find a word that didn’t make her feel like stupid.
Luke laughed a little and lifted her chin so she was looking straight at him. "Don't be. I'm only going because the boys won't let me stay home. I promise that those, dancers as you all them, won't be getting anywhere near me. And don't be jealous, you know that I would never leave you. You're perfect."
Isobelle blushed. "I'm not perfect."
"Don't start this again, you are. You are perfect to me." Luke said making Isobelle blush once more.
"Fine. Just don't get too plastered." She instructed him.
Luke laughed. "I won't. Surprisingly I do want to actually remember it."
"Oh ha ha, very funny." She said in the most sarcastic tone of voice she could manage given the circumstances.
"Alright, alright, I'm sorry."
"You should be." Isobelle said poking her tongue out at him.
Luke chuckled. "And you, I don't want you hooking up with any of your 'dancers' either."
Isobelle smiled at his concern. "You know that I wouldn’t. To be honest I only think the girls booked them so they could hook up with them." She laughed.
"Well Jai won't be happy about that."
"Not Dakota, me and her vowed to stay well away from anything that might lead to that." She told him.
"Good." Luke said bringing her closer again. "Now less of this worrying and a little more of this" he said kissing her.
Isobelle giggled lightly and kissed him back, moving her hands up to link behind his neck. They stayed this way, making the most out of the time they had, until they had to leave only to meet again at the altar…
