Sugawara Koushi x Reader - Research

In my opinion Sugawara is one of the best characters in Haikyuu!! There is not really a background to this Oneshot, you're just an average working class person, the season is winter. The first scene in set in the morning before work.

This Oneshot is gender neutral.

Café Brew

You were sitting in Café Brew, researching about volleyball. A warm cup of F/H/D to the left of your laptop. You would occasionally take a sip, as you did, you couldn't help but feel warm and cozy. Your back was facing towards the mildly frosted, front window of the café, slightly exposing your laptop to people walking by. After a while of research, you plugged in earphones and started watching a volleyball match. The match was Karasuno VS Aoba-Johsai, the match was very intense however, every once in a while your eyes kept drifting towards a man, like a magnet. His face was soft and he had a cute mole under his left eye. Your attention soon shifted to the door as a small jingle echoed throughout the cozy café.

The man, that came through the door, walked towards you. He smiled gently and asked, "Is this seat taken?"
You shook your head, a little confused but somewhat pleased."May I sit then?"
"Sure."
He took a seat.
"Sorry if that was sudden miss, but I couldn't help but notice that you were watching a very memorable match of mine. I also saw that you haven't finished watching it, may I watch with you?"
"Yes, you may, you played in the match didn't you? I recognise you."
He nods. "That was about 5 years ago, but I'm still playing volleyball."
You and the man watched the rest of the match together, he smiled gently at his team mates throughout the video. When the video finished he said awkwardly, "Heh, sorry I was so excited watching that match that I forgot to tell you my name, it's Sugawara Koushi, please call me Sugawara."
"L/N F/N, nice to meet you Sugawara."
You talked about volleyball until you both had to go to work, while talking about volleyball both of you caught small snippets of facts about your personal lives. You promised to meet each other again to talk and hangout, so you exchanged phone numbers.

About 2 weeks later you met up again but this time at a park, before hand you made a nice picnic for both you and Sugawara to share. You met up under a willow tree and sat down on a picnic blanket in the shade."Let's eat!" You both said in unison.
There was small talk about families and work while the picnic was being devoured, eventually when all the food was gone, you both lay down under the leaves and talked about simple things. You asked "What's your favourite colour?"
"I don't have one, how about you?" He asked
"F/C is my favourite colour."
"Yeah, that's a nice colour."
-A comfortable silence-
"Do you have a favourite food then, Sugawara?"
"Yep, it's Super spicy mapo Tofu"

"Haha, that's my second favourite, my favourite food is F/F."
"I love that too, it's so tasty."

* "Me too! I love the texture and how spicy it is, a lot of my friends can't deal with the spice but I can."
* "Haha, same!"
You kept talking and talking until it began to rain, a little droplet landed on your face when you said, "I think it's raining Sugawara, let's get going, we've been out here for a long time anyways."
"Yeah, I'll walk you home, I brought an umbrella just in case, and I'll drive you back."
"Your a life saver, Suga."
He smirked.

You walked home with Sugawara. "Why don't you come in and stay until the storm passes or at least until it dies down?"
"Are you sure? I don't want to be a bother." He said,
"You're not a bother Suga! Come on, stay for a bit, please?"
"Ok then, thank you for having me."
Sugawara stayed until the next day and slept on your sofa with a blanket and pillow, he didn't seem to mind and actually said the sofa was very comfy.

Your relationship together would blossom as winter went and spring came. You would soon grow to love each other dearly, at first as friends, then best friends, and then lovers. You got to know Sugawara well and so did he to you. About 1 year after you met him, he asked to be your boyfriend, and you said yes. He introduced you to his old teammates and close friends and they also adored you.

He proposed, one day, 2 years later, and marrying at quite a young age, your friends and family were hesitant but encouraging. You and Sugawara were now called husband and wife, children came, and went, to start their own lives with their own husbands or wives and children. You both grew old together and watched as your friends and family also grew old with you, eventually it was just you and Sugawara, both old but happy together in your warm, large house, living happily ever after.

The ending is quite cheesy isn't it? It was going so well but I guess it kind of went downhill from the sofa part, haha. Any improvements or mistakes please tell me in the comments. 1023 words including the extras. Sorry this Oneshot was quite short.
