Chapter 3

A couple weeks later

Me and Will ride to his house after school. Will's mom bought be a bike so I didn't have to keep running to and from school. Apparently Will was never really allowed to ride his bike to school because he was alone. I'm not sure why Mrs. Byers won't let him but She does now I'm here! Me and Will arrived and stepped inside. Mrs. Byers and Jonathan are sitting in the living room. 

"W-What's going on?" Will asks. Mrs. Byers just smiles. We sit down.

"So, I have a present for you two!" She says with a huge ass smile.
I love Mrs. Byers! She is just the sweetest, other than Will!

"Close your eyes and hold out your hand, y/n! Will, you just close your eyes." She says.

I do as she says and something in placed into my hands. In open my eyes, an envelope. I open the envelope to reveal a birth certificate. With my name on it? It can't be my name, I'm not y/n Byers- oh. My eyes widen and fill with tears. I jump up and hug Mrs. Byers... No... My... Mom!
I begin to cry into her shoulder, creating a huge wet spot.

I hear Will's super comm go off. "Will! Do you copy? It's a party emergency! Is y/n with you?" Mike says, from the other line. Why is he asking for me? He said it was a 'party emergency. '

"Yeah, me and y/n are here." Will says. "Good. Go to the library. It's a-"

"CODE RED!" Dustin yells while Mike is talking.
I look at.. Mom.. I have to get used to that. She just nods. That means we are allowed to go. Me and Will race to our bikes so we can meet them.

Once we arrive, they are all outside. "We actually need to be in the woods, it's super busy in there." Dustin says. We all take off far into the woods.

"Okay, what's the problem?" I say very confused.
Mike walks backward so he is far from us then looks down upset. While Dustin is explaining to Will, me, and Lucas, I walk over Mike, who is excluding himself.

"Are you okay, Mike?" I say, him still looking at the ground. He just shrugs.
I wrap my arm around his shoulder and I bring him in for a side hug. I see a small smile crack in his face. "Guess what!" I whisper yell, since I didn't wanna interrupt the others.

"What?" He questions. I pull the envelope out of my backpack and I tell him to open it.

Mike's eyes widen and a toothy smile appears on his face. "Congratulations, y/n!" He says, bringing me in for another hug. I got Mike to like me by telling him my biggest secret. He told me about El and we both cried together.

Me and Mike are still hugging. His arms around my waist and mine around the back of his neck. My head placed in the crook of his neck. We've never hugged like this. The last hug I have him was an awkward side hug to make sure he was okay.
Me and Mike pull away, but he is still holding onto my waist.

"Hey y/n... I was wondering maybe we can have a sleepover tonight at my house! Y'know, like just you and me.. To get to know each other better. Explain everything that has happened in the past. Like how your a Vampire and about El." He says quietly and fast.

His face turns bright red when he realizes he was holding onto me. " I'd like that, but I need to ask Mrs.- I mean my mom. " I say, laughing a bit at the end, which makes my face heat up.

We all separate, but Mike follows me and Will. I go inside to ask My mother. "Hey, uhh, mom?" I ask. "Yeah... Y/n?"

"First, can I sleep over at Mike's? Second I just want to thank you for excepting me in your lovely household!" I say, with a big hug.

"Yes you can sleep over at Mike's, and your welcome! I just see how much Will loves you! He even told me he loves you so much he just wants me to adopt you!" She says, as I pull away. I just giggle at the thought of Will saying he loves me. "thank you." I say.
