Chapter 13

After I explain to Will who I am, I see he starts to tap the side of the chair. Morse Code. I spell out what he says in my head. "Close the gate." Why at the hell does that mean? "Close the gate." I whisper . Mike just looks at me confused. "What?" He whispers back. "Will is communicating with us through Morse code." I say out loud for everyone to hear. Hopper just looks at me. "How do you know?" Hopper questions . "Look at his fingers. He's tapping Morse Code." I reply, causing Hopper to look concerned. "What is he saying?" Hopper places his hands on my should and makes me face him. "Close the gate." Mike's eyes widen. "The gate to the upside down." Mike says. The phone inside the house rings and Will closes his eyes. I stab Will's arm with the syringe. Will falls back asleep and we bring him inside.

Tears start to form in my eyes as Mike holds my hand. "Will is gonna be okay." He says, pulling me into a hug. "But what if he isn't." I say looking up at Mike. Mike looks into my eyes and leaves a short yet sweet kiss on my forehead. "I love you, Mike" I whisper, snuggling into him. Mike just hugs me tighter.

The sound of roars get louder, causing me and Mike to jump. We go over to everyone and see weapons being drawn. "Holy shi -" I get cut off by another roar. I get behind everyone as the weapons are faced the door. Mike picks up a candle holder and I stand behind him.

Sounds are heard from outside. Roars and squeals. Soon after one of those dogs is shot through the window. Everyone faces the creature. "Its dead." Dustin says. Everyone looks back towards the door, something steps closer to it. Mike holds onto me as the door starts to unlock.

A girl wearing all black and her hair is slicked back walks through the door. Mike let's go of me as the weapons are being placed down. Me, Max, and Steve all look confused. Mike continues to walk forward and everyone moves so he can get through.

Mike and the girl stare at each other for a while. After a while, they walk towards each other and hug.
"I never gave up on you," Tears start to fall down the girls face, "I called you every night. Every night, for-" Mike gets cut off. "353 days... I heard." The girl says.
"El.." I whisper. I wipe the tear that fell down my cheek. I walk over to Mike and El hugs hopper. "You were hiding her." Mike says to Hopper. " you were hiding her! " he yells, hitting Hopper. "Let's talk, alone." Hopper demands in a stern voice. El walks over to Dustin and Lucas and hugs them.

"Hi, I'm Max! I've heard a lot about you." Max says, holding her hand out. El just pushes past Max.

I walk over to Max and hug her. El hugs my mom. I feel tears about to fall down my face so I run over to my room. "Liar! Liar! Liar! You piece of shit! You're a liar!" I hear muffled cries on the other side of my door. My heart aches at the sound of Mike crying. I knock on the door as the door swings open. Mike pushes past me back to El. I follow and see what is happening. "Y/n, come here!" My mom says. I do what I was told .

"Eleven, this is y/n. My daughter. I adopted her in August." My mom says to El. " Eleven? Like the the number. " I say to My mom. She just nods. So smiles and hugs me. My mom walks away. "Stay away from Mike." She says, hugging tighter. "Wasn't planning on it." I say, squeezing the air out of her. We let go and I give her an annoyed smile. I roll my eyes and I sit next to Mike. "She seems... Nice.. I guess." I whisper. Mike places his arm around my shoulder and pulls me closer. A tear falls down my cheek, landing and Mike's hand. "Are you crying?" He whispers. I nod. "Don't cry, y/n. I promise, nothing is gonna change between us now that El is back home." I look at him with disbelief. We all gather around the dining table. El stands as I sit next to Mike. I want to get on her nerves. I hold Mike's hand and I see his cheeks get red. I look up and I see El get extremely mad.

Time skip

I'll recap everything. Nancy, Mom, and Jonathan took Will to the place Hopper was keeping El, to get the thing that is possessing him out. But Hopper and El are going to Hawkins lab to close the gate. Mike and El almost kissed, as I was standing right there. Me, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Max, and Steve are still at my house. I sit in my room alone. I hear everyone outside my room talking. I look at all the drawing that Will has made. If Mom and Jonathan can't get the demon thing out, it could kill him. Tears start to form as I put the drawings away. I step out my room and I see bright headlights shining through the window. Did they do it? Is mom, Jonathan, Nancy, and Will home? Did So close the gate? Is hopper home? I county care less about El. I walk out the door with Steve following.
