My head came out of the swimming pool gasping for air. Did I die!? Did I not die!? I needed to know so I came out of the pool as fast as I could. I looked around and everything looks the same to me. I started to get nervous.
I went inside my house and saw a couple of my friends sleeping on the couch and on the floor. A couple of beer cans can be found around the house, as well. This scenario definitely looks familiar to me.
YES! YES! I have travelled back to the night of my birthday!
Chaeng. I need to find her, immediately! I hopped onto my bicycle and rode off right away. My clothes are soaking wet, but I don't care. I just need to see Chaeng. Please, let her be there. Please, let her be there.
When I got to her house, I went straight to her bedroom window. I lifted it up and got inside. My eyes went straight to Chaeng.
"Oh my god, Rosie! Thank god! Thank god you're here." I swear that was the happiest moment of my life. I hugged her so tight, I didn't want to let go.
"Lisa, what's going on? Why are you soaking wet?" She looked very confused.
"It's a long story, Rosie. You wouldn't believe what happened. I'm just so happy to see you. You have no idea how happy I am." I pulled her close and kissed her.
Suddenly, someone opened the door. It was...
It was ME.
I couldn't believe my eyes. I was literally staring at my own self. I am standing in front of me! The other me stood there, just as shocked as I was.
"Wh-what the hell is going on? Lisa, is this some kind of a prank? This is not funny. Seriously!" Chaeng was starting to really freak out.
Then it hit me. I must've gotten into a different universe. Not the one where I originally came from.
"Um, I'm sorry. This is very complicated, but I think I might have gotten into the wrong world. I don't belong here. I—"
"What the hell are you talking about?" asked Chaeng, looking slightly frightened.
"She's telling the truth, Chaeng," said the other Lisa. "There's something you need to know. This is probably the right time to tell you this. I came from a universe where you were... already dead. I got very depressed and I—I killed myself. I don't even know if my body was ever found. All I know is I woke up in this world and I was just so happy to see you that I didn't ever want to leave. That's what happened..."
"Seriously guys, you are freaking me out. Just stop this nonsense."
"This is not a joke, Rosie. I came from a different world, too. I tried to get back, but ended up in here," I said. "I know this is all too much. But it's the truth."
Suddenly, someone opened the door and to our surprise, it's Chaeng.
