Three Years Later

Charlotte Samson jumps down her loft/bedroom stairs two at a time, yelling at her little brother Jamie to turn down his stupid Xbox game! She runs into the dining room to find a stack of pancakes waiting for her with a envelope next to it. She sits down and shoves some pancake in her mouth while turning over the envelope to see it addressed in shining green ink:

She yelps loudly as she sees the red stamp enclosing the envelope which is emblazoned with a shield depicting a badger, a lion, a snake and an eagle. Charlie quickly pulls out the first piece of parchment and read the neat writing that states:

HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY

Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore

(Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc., Chf. Warlock,

Supreme Mugwumps, International Confed of Wizards)

Dear Miss Samson,

We are pleased to inform you that you have a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.

Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl by no later than 31 July.

Charlie screams loudly in excitement. Her father comes running into the room as she pulls out the second piece of parchment which had her books and equipment listed.

"What? What's wrong?", Her father asks with a panicked look on his face, he notices the letter in her hand, "oh my good lord, Charlie, you gave me a heart attack!"

Charlie shrieks in response, " Look, Look I've been accepted into Hogwarts!!" Ever since she was six she had dreamt of going to a wizarding school and now she finally had the chance!

Slowly (and not very calmly) she read her equipment list.

HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY

Uniform

First year students will require:

1. Three sets of plain work robes (black)

2. One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear

3. One pair of protective gloves (dragon hide or similar)

4. One winter cloak (black, silver fastenings)

Please note all pupil's clothing should carry name tags
