"We should head, you've had a day, it's time to get you home."

"Yeah, I suppose so." I replied. "Do you want me to take you home or do you want to go by yourself? I understand if you want to have some space." He said.

"I can drive myself, thank you though. You can drive me tomorrow, promise."

He nodded and led me to my car. "Oh! Question. Can you take a present for mom home with you? She can't see it, at all."

"Yeah, I'll take it with me. It shouldn't be a problem."

"Thank you." He breathed.

I watched him run to his Honda Prius, grabbed the gift and ran back to me. My hand wrapped around the bag and held it to my chest.

"Thank you, again. You have no clue what this means to me."

All I could do was sit and smile. I hugged him, got into my 2000 Chevy Suburban and placed the gift gently on the back seat. I pulled out of the school parking lot and drove, somewhere. I wanted a pick me up so I drove into town and decided to just go through the drive-thru. I rolled up to the order machine.

"Hello, welcome to Dairy Queen. What can I get for you?" The cashier spoke.

"Um, can I get a Mint Chocolate-Chip blizzard?"

"Will that be all?"

"Yes ma'am. Thank you."

"Okay, if you could just drive up to the window I'll have your order in a sec."

"Okay." I replied.

As I rolled up to the window and waited for my order I turned on the radio. The song on was 'Marvin Gaye' and the song, though bad, was catchy.

"Okay hun, here's your order." The cashier stated. Her name tag was visible so my first thought was to thank her and leave, but didn't just say thank you.

"Thank you, Joanne." I said.

"Y-you're welcome." She stammered.

I smiled and drove forward and parked, just wanting to enjoy my ice-cream.

"Woah, there's loving in your eyes

That pulls me closer

It's so subtle, I'm in trouble

But I'd love to be in trouble with you

Let's Marvin Gaye and get it on

You got the healing that I want

Just like they say it in the song

Until the dawn, let's Marvin Gaye and get it on"

I sang the words as I ate my blizzard, and out of nowhere I here a male voice.

"Marvin Gaye? Like the American Singer?" They asked.

"Holy- What the HECK!!!" I screeched, ice-cream spewing from my lips.
