While Izuku had spent a month at the League of Villains, those that were in his life were worried sick about him. His mother had called the police the day after he never returned. They had been looking for him everywhere. Not a single witness saw him. The police called it a lost cause and stopped looking after a week. His mother then called Katsuki Bakugou. Though he wasn't actually known for being "friends" with Izuku, he was the only kid who really knew him, and she was growing desperate. He hadn't known anything, and it just pissed him off more that he had been interrogated as such. Almost as though they were accusing him of taking him. He wouldn't do that- okay, he's a bully, but he's not a villain!
Inside, Bakugou secretly felt responsible for his disappearance, though he'd never admit it to himself. Was it because of how horrible he had treated him that he left? It had only been a month prior to the day Izuku hadn't returned from his walk that he had told him he was worthless. He had been so rude, he even told him to kill himself. Did he actually do it? Or did he run away, and where can a boy like him go? But he had kept his mouth shut about the incident, as to avoid being further accused. Everyone had kept searching for him. By everyone, that meant mostly just his mother, and a couple of her friends. Even so, news that a young quirkless boy had gone missing seemed to spread like wildfire through the city. Some thought he as taken by villains, others thought he was killed, others thought that he had simply run away because he had enough. Only Izuku really knew the truth.
Bakugou had had his own private search, too. He didn't tell anyone, because he didn't want anyone thinking he cared about the damn nerd. He didn't, after all. He had told himself that he was looking for him so he could yell at him for disappearing. So he could teach him a lesson. And, though again would never be admitted, maybe it ease his guilt. To confirm that he's okay and everything's as it has always been. Damn Deku. But even he came up empty-handed in his search. He had gone done the very street he had last seen him at. In fact, he had gone down the very street every day that month. And every street in the damn city. Still nothing.
He couldn't concentrate in school. His teacher, Mr.Aisawa, had even talked to him about it. It just made him even angrier than before, though. He just snapped thart he was fine and that was the end of that. But he knew he couldn't dwell on this forever. He had a duty as a U.A student. If he ever wanted to be as good as All Might, he had to let it go. So he blocked out his feelings of guilt and pretended that Deku simply never existed. He was nothing but an abandoned memory, and he now avoided the street that he last saw him.
And all the while Izuku Midoriya had come to the conclusion that no one cared he was gone. He didn't think they were searching for him or worrying for him. He focused on one thing and one thing only; getting stronger. He wanted to be as strong as Kacchan- as strong as All Might, even. He wanted to be a threat. He wanted them to fear him as he had once feared Kacchan. Shigaraki started invited Izuku to villain meetings. Meetings of destruction. Of death. They talked about possible plans for infiltrating U.A or how to kill All Might. They talked about smaller-scale attacks such as killing citizens. They did so by doing drive-bys and starting fires and breaking into someone's house and murdering them in cold blood. Nothing was ever really settled though, and they usually drifted off into dark conversations
It was all such a gory scene that they set out in front of Midoriya. But it didn't bother him. He told himself that while the murder of the innocent was wrong and he did not like it, these people were still good people. He was not to partake in these crimes, so he had no blood on his hands.
He told himself that his goal overweight that. His goal to get revenged. Revenge on Bakugou. Revenge on All might. Revenge on the world. Revenge. He didn't like that word, because it sounded so evil and wrong. It sounded like he had turned evil. But he hadn't really- he had just changed loyalties. Izuku used to think that life was simple. That there were two sides. Heroes and villains. Good and bad. Right and wrong. But the world isn't so black and white.
