Three Years Later
Yale's P.o.V
If anyone would have told me three years ago I'd be this happy in life, I would have probably laughed in their face but here I was, more content and at peace. I checked the time on my watch which read one - fifteen pm, I had lots of time on my side but I just couldn't wait to get home and see my beautiful wife and children. My eyes went to the huge box beside me to stare at it hoping my son would love the gift I had gotten for his birthday. Yeap, my son, Dante Adkins-Benenati was two today and I was over the moon but time was flying by quick. It seems like only yesterday I was holding him in my arms for the first time.
The iron gates of the house soon came into view and my desire to see my wife built up. Hell I was as anxious as a kid on Christmas day waiting to open presents. Ben pulled up in front of the house and I quickly got out not waiting for him to come open the door for me. Winter who must have heard the car pull up bolted out of the door and came running towards me. My beautiful daughter at six years old still come out of the house to hug me each time I came back.
"Daddy!!!" She squealed out as I scooped her into my arms showering kisses all over her.
I set her down as I spotted my son running towards me out of the corner of my eye. I picked him up and administered the same affection I had shown to Winter not long ago with him telling him about the presents his Gigi had gifted him. I stared into big hazel orbs and features that resembled that of Faye's as I listened to him attentively. I still couldn't believe he was two years old, how I wish he could stop growing and stay like that forever.
The smell of pastries was the first thing that filled my senses followed by the chattering of women when I fully entered the house. Nico who apparently had been banned from the kitchen was seated in the living room with all his attention on the ipad indulge his hands. He gave me a wave too busy to come give his uncle a hug. I set Dante down so he could go join his sister and cousin to play and headed to the kitchen in search of my wife.
I spotted her the moment I entered the kitchen with her busily working on Dante's cake with smudges on her face. She looked so beautiful and cute with strands of her hair which had escaped from the high bun on her head caressing her face. The other women in the room who consisted of her mother Ruby, Federica and Aurora were all so busy preparing what not that they didn't even notice my presence until Ruby looked up from the cupcake she was decorating.
"Yale." She mentioned my name, drawing the rest of their attention to me but that didn't interest me.
My gaze went to the one person who mattered, my freckled beauty. Faye's eyes locked with mine for a brief moment before that smile I loved seeing so much broke out on her face. I stood there frozen, with my heart jumping for joy. How could she still affect me this much and make me feel like a teenage boy in love after all these years? I thought to myself returning her smile.
"My love, when did you come?" She asked grabbing hold of a napkin to wipe her hands.
Placing it down, she made her way from behind the island towards me with her eight months belly leading the way. I smiled with pride as I watched her wobble her way to engulf me in a hug but I kissed her instead as I had yearned for a taste of those lips. What was suppose to be a brief kiss turned into something else with her relaxing into it. Someone clearing her throat made us break apart with Santa Faye hiding her face in my jacket. Placing a quick kiss in her hair I bent down to kiss her stomach and caress her bump through her dress.
"How's our little champ doing?" I muttered out looking up at my wife who only rolled her eyes at me. We had argued a few times about the gender of the baby since we didn't want to know and she found it annoying anytime I referred to our unborn child as "champ".
