Jason Grace, son of Jupiter, ex-praetor of the Twelfth Legion, Pontifex Maximus, one of the seven, member of the fifth cohort. What do we know about this unique character?

One thing that we know is that Jason was about two when his birth mother gave him to Juno, who left him with Lupa, the wolf goddess. Lupa is the one to determine if a half blood is worthy enough to enter New Rome, and the weak don't survive being with her.

After being raised by Lupa, Jason then went on to the legion and at some point became a member of the fifth cohort, and then, eventually, became the praetor of New Rome.

Now the Romans look down on the weak---after all, they were conquerors---and many view kindness as a weakness. However, Jason is kind to the people he cares about.

My questions for my fellow half-bloods are these: despite how Jason was raised, how is he still so kind, and why can't people in the mortal world still be that way as well? Also if Lupa and the Romans didn't see kindness as a weakness, why do we?

Yes, being too kind can be dangerous, but just caring about others and not being a complete scortum obscenus vilis isn't a weakness.
