"Maddie," Rory laughed, "you're going to be late for your date with Danny."
"I can't decide which outfit to wear," Maddie moaned.
"Tie your hair up in a ponytail. Wear your light blue, denim shirt and a pair of black jeans," Rory suggested. "Oh, and wear those cute black flats with the outfit."
"Alright," Maddie sighed. "I can't believe he wanted to go out on a second date. I mean, has he met me?"
"Yeah," Rory laughed. "That's why he agreed to the second date. Come on, have some confidence in yourself."
"Confidence? What is this nonexistent thing you speak of?" Maddie scoffed.
Rory chuckled. "Cute. Now, go get dressed. I don't want you to be late."
—————
"Gosh, you look beautiful," Danny gaped. "Did I say that out loud?"
Maddie nodded with a soft laugh. "Thank you."
Danny turned a light shade of red. "Should we...uh, should we..." he stammered.
"Should we get going?" Maddie guessed. Danny nodded and she smiled, "Yes, let's."
Danny wrapped Maddie's arm around his as escorted her to the car. "Have you been to Dos Tacos before?"
"No," Maddie replied, shaking her head. "Is it good?"
"The food is excellent," Danny nodded.
Maddie stepped into the blue, convertible Lamborghini. "This car is beautiful," she gushed. "Did you just buy this?"
"Yeah, I got it earlier," Danny said hesitantly. The car wasn't really his. He had actually borrowed it from Jamie, because he thought it would impress Maddie.
—————
"Hey," came Jamie's voice from over the phone. "I'm going bowling with a couple friends tomorrow. Would you want to come?"
"That sounds fun," Rory replied with a smile. "I'm down."
"Perfect. I'll pick you up at about noon."
"Great."
—————
Danny and Maddie were driving to the park when the former received a call. He put it on speaker and greeted, "Hey, Jamie. What's up?"
"Listen, Danny, I'm going to need the Lambo back tomorrow morning. I'm taking Rory bowling with Thomas and Cass at noon, so if you could return it before that, that'd be great," Jamie said quickly.
Maddie covered her mouth and tried not to laugh, though her shoulders shook terribly.
Danny made a face. "Yeah, yeah. Sure, whatever. Bye." He hastily hung up the call.
"You borrowed this car from Jamie?" Maddie chuckled.
"Maybe," Danny replied sheepishly. "I thought it'd be cool to take you out in...well, in a car that isn't my thousand-year-old Toyota. Plus, I figured that the convertible would be perfect for stargazing."
Maddie nodded approvingly. "That's really thoughtful of you."
"Thanks," Danny blushed. "So...what did you think of Dos Tacos?"
"It was wonderful," Maddie smiled. "I just wished they would serve more than two tacos at a time."
Danny nodded in agreement. "Yeah, me too."
—————
"How did I let myself fall for Jamie?" Rory thought aloud with a groan. She sat down on the couch and sighed, feeling rather conflicted as her thoughts turned to her best friend. She was happy for Maddie, but missed spending time with her. "She deserves to have a guy like Danny...I wonder if they'll become boyfriend and girlfriend soon."
"I'm home!" Maddie announced, walking through the front door.
"Hey," Rory sighed.
"Is something wrong?" Maddie asked slowly.
"No," Rory shrugged. "How was your date with Danny?"
"It was wonderful," Maddie beamed.
