I was so bored and sick lying in the hospital bed that it felt like I would never recover. It's been three days since I've been here, and my mom has already visited me. Helena never showed her face again after our last conversation. She never comes back.
Maybe she was busy, I think.
My co-worker also visits me. Especially Andy, who visits every night after his shift. He brings me fruits and flowers.
"Hello, My Savannah." I rolled my eyes when I heard Andy's voice again. I look at the wall clock, and it's eight in the evening.
"You're here again?" I raised one eyebrow and gave him a fake smile.
It doesn't mean I don't like him visiting me every day. It's just that I'm not used to him giving me flowers. He seems as if he's courting me.
"Flowers for you and fruits." He grinned and put the basket of fruits and flowers on the table.
"Oh, I see. You can move your injured leg now," he noticed while checking my leg. I sat on the bed and faced him.
"Yes. So, it means I can get out of here soon," I replied happily.
"Good to hear that, I can't wait to invite you for a date."
I glared at him. "Are you not tired, Andy? I mean... aren't you tired of joking or teasing me?" I asked him seriously. He looks at me directly in the eyes.
"I'm not joking, Sav, I was serious when I told you last time that I liked you and wanted to go out with you," he confessed. "I'm just teasing you at work because you always ignore my feelings, even though you already know my feelings towards you."
I sighed after hearing his confession. I don't know what to say. And he was right, I already knew how he felt about me, but I just ignored it because I wanted us to remain friends but...
Should I give him a chance to date me? Or reject him again?
"Are you doing this to pursue me and accept your invitation?" I asked him with narrowed eyes. He grinned.
"C'mon Sav, just one date. I promise you; you won't regret it, and we never know..." He shrugged his shoulders and smiled mischievously. "...you might fall in love with me."
I laughed at him and he pouted his lips pretending that my reactions hurt him.
"Okay fine, just one date after I recover my injured leg," I answered while still laughing.
"Oh yes! I will always remind you that you agree with that date," he said happily. "I have to go, see you tomorrow." He winked at me before he left.
I didn't know how long I slept because when I woke up, Helena was in front of me, giving me her sweetest smile.
"Hi, darling! How are you?"
"I'm doing great, how about you?" I responded to her with a crooked voice.
"I have been busy these past few days. I talked to the doctor, and he said you can leave anytime you want. And I got your discharge paper already. You can go out now."
My eyebrows furrowed. I was confused, but I tried to decipher what she said.
"I will call my mom to help me-"
"No need, I have my car at your service," she offered and smiled proudly. I forced a smile at her, it seemed that she was in a hurry.
"Isn't it too much? You're always helping me."
"It's my pleasure dear," she answered flatly.
That day I was discharged from the hospital and went home safely. Helena took care of everything I needed, even though I refused, she was so persistent. I didn't tell my mom about her. I felt something was wrong when I learned that I had a twin or just a lookalike of me.
