david climbed into the passengers seat of the car, closing the door swiftly.

"hey [nickname]!"
he happily greeted.

"hey davey!"

i sat there, slightly twiddling my thumbs, nervous about the prank i was going to pull on him.

"dave, i have something to ask you..."

david's eyebrows furrowed,

"is everything okay?"

"no no! i mean, yes! everything's fine. i've just got a question."

david smiled.

"so i know i probably shouldn't ask you this, since we're just friends,-"

david's smile altered slightly, but he tried not to show it too much.

i make eye contact with him, making him look away and out the window.
