Dates were always nightmares for Lily. This was mainly due to the numerous blind dates her friends set her up with. Remembering some of them – Jacob the Eminem look-a-like who could never complete a sentence without swearing or breaking out into some sort of rap, Lionel the accountant with two left feet who walked with an overly exaggerated lean to the right, many more painful disasters occurring later when they went dancing, and Buddy the fish-guy from the Aquarium World near her sister's place that had managed to accidentally unleash an octopus to her face - it was hard to see how dating was worth any attention or effort.

Lily had come to the solution for why people felt the need to constantly date. People who felt the need to constantly date had very little important purpose in life, either that, or the stereotypical fairytale ending mindset. Lily never expected to find a fairytale ending or prince; nor did she want to. Lily theorised that she would simply find somebody when she was good and ready. Meeting Oliver at the party on Triadic Avenue changed Lily's theory. At that party, Lily had never expected to have a chance with a guy like Oliver. That was until he'd sat down with her on the couch. The rest was a complete blur to Lily. Finding it hard to find something to wear. Finding it hard to believe that she was now sitting in her lounge room waiting for Oliver to arrive. Finding it hard to tear her eyes away from the clock as both a knock at the door and the ding of the clock came at seven.
