I stare at the sign that says "Welcome New Students" with three exclamation marks, and take a deep breath. First day of a new school year and the sign is the first thing I see. The school itself wasn't too bad, kinda plain with a few trees and a bench for a quiet space in the mornings. I examine more of my surroundings as more students started walking into the doors, and I decide to join them walking into the school.
I look for the front office so I can get my schedule. Looking for the usually sign of an office: office ladies who look like they got all dolled up, kids in chairs waiting for their schedules, or the occasional sign that says "New Students Here." When I couldn't find it I went to an adult and asked where it was in my sweetest voice.
"Excuse me, sir" I said with a smile to a man with no hair on his head except a moustache that was darker than his eyebrows.
"May I help you young lady?" He said. Young lady? Oh sir you just don't know.
"Yes sir, I need help finding the front office." I asked as he smiled.
"I will help you to the front office. Right this way." He gestured me to follow him so I did.
The front office was combined with the library, kind of a cool idea because I know those office ladies always need a place to cool off when a parent yells at them for not letting their kid go to class without a tardy pass. When I get there I thank him and he leaves.
I go up to one of the office ladies and she smiles. "How may I help you?"
"I am new here and I am trying to get my schedule." I say with a sweet voice and a smile.
"Of course, name please." She says as she starts to type and get on the computer.
"Penelope Bryant" I said. And she starts typing real fast.
"Ah Penelope is such a pretty name..." She started talking on and on but I really didn't care, just kept smiling and occasionally saying "ah that is cool." Finally she was done and she handed me my schedule.
I said "thank you" and left. I start looking at my schedule.
First block: Geometry
Second block: Art
Third block: American Literature
Fourth block: Biology
This is too easy. I started walking down one of the halls and I wasn't alert enough."Oh my I'm so sorry!." A voice said. I look up to see a pretty girl with glasses and short brown hair. Her outfit was real cool. A T-shirt that said "Naruto" on it and ripped skinny jeans at the knee with converses.
"Oh no it was my fault. I should have been paying more attention." I smiled and said to her.
"Are you new here if so I can help you get to your first class." She said looking at me pointing to my schedule. I hand her my schedule and her eyes light up. "I have Geometry and American Literature with you!"
"Oh really, cool! Do you think you can show me to the class then?"
"Of course. I'm Karlee Johns by the way."
"Penelope Bryant." I smiled.
We walked all the way to class together. Walking into class I stopped, and looked around. A boy with blonde hair and ice blue eyes caught my attention. Could he be the other one that Carol was talking about. I go and take a seat close to him.
"Well hello there, cutie." He says with a flirtatious smirk.
"Hello. My names not cutie its Penelope. Got it?" I said to him.
He leans closer to me, close enough I could see the vein in his neck. No pulse. He is one.
"Got it." He whispered in my ear, and pulls away. Before I could say anything else the bell rings, and class begins.Authors note: I am not a good writer but thank you for clicking on this story anyways! I read a little bit of fanfiction so a lot of the writing style was kinda like that... Lol my writing style changes to how I am feeling or so. But it does get a little slow at points and some of the chapters were short.
