Penelope's Secret

chapter 3

  Noah's POV
  I headed to my usual lunch spot. The bench by the tree. I usually eat alone, mainly because people tend to bother me. As I was walking I hear people talking. Sounds like a girl and Elliot Walker and another fallen girl dying to profess her love, only for her heart to broken, and then to become a whore. Not saying it happens to some girls but Rebecca Harrison now has aids because of it. I keep walking to the bench to wait for my seat.
   I approached and heard the end of the conversation.
   "Are you the vampire killing humans by the creek?" The girl asked. I saw her and dropped my tray. She looked at me.
   "Oh my Noah! Me and him are just talking." She said. Penelope I guess.
   "I-um I uh need to go to class." I said and started to run. I heard footsteps behind me. I turned a corner and thought I left them behind, until I was pushed against the wall with so much strength that I coughed. I met the eyes staring at me. It was Elliot, his eyes went from their usual eye color to a piercing red. Pure terror built up inside me.
   "I promise I won't tell." I said gasping for air. He let's me go and I slide down the wall till I was on the ground. Penelope comes to my side to see if I was alright. He starts to laugh a very maniacal laugh.
   "I can't trust you! I barely trust Penelope!" Elliot still laughing. "Only way I can be sure that our secret is safe is if you are dead!"
   He starts to walk closer to me. I start to sweat and hyperventilate. Penelope jumps in my way and gets his blow.
   "Penelope! We can't trust him!" He yelled at her.
   "Why not its not like he talks to anyone anyways?" She said to him. It was true I only talk to one person at home.
   "I don't want someone to know period." He said back.
   "Elliot look, he seems very trustworthy. And if he isn't then who is going to believe that we are vampires?" She asked plainly.
   "Oh my. Penelope, he believes it!" Elliot yelled.
   "I mean he must have a reason to believe that we are vampires." She says. "Besides now a days girls like vampires, am I right? You seen twilight?" She asked.
   "Fine but what about him?" Elliot says giving in.
   "I will never tell a soul about this. Never have broken a promise. I don't plan on it at all." I said.
   "Fine. He lives. But one peep out of him and both of you are dead." He says and starts to walk away.
   "Wait you never answered the question!" She yelled to him.
   "No I am not the one who has been killing PEOPLE by the creek." He says. "And if you going to be staying here, Penelope, stop calling people 'humans'. its creepy."
   He turns back and starts to walk back in. I have so many questions. I turn to Penelope and half smile.
   "You must have questions. I do too." She says with a smile. I gulp and nod.
