Penelope's POV
A couple days later
Noah and I were working on the case. We still have no suspects. I am starting really think it was an animal. Noah is trying his hardest to help. Noah was thinking really hard for a bit. I layed my head down for a second.
"Hey Penelope." Noah calls my name.
"Hmm" I said from my sleeves.
"What did you do after you ran off from your family and in hiding?" He asks.
"I would hunt animals and if any humans got in the way I would.... You know....." I said as I looked up at him.
"Well they are saying its an animal that have caused the killings because beside the bodies are corpses of small animals." He says pointing to a police report.
"OK what does that have to do with anything?" I asked kinda confused.
"What if it is a newly changed vampire that hasn't been discovered?" He asks as he looks at me.
"Then they would have to be turned in." I say. "But then they would have to say they want help. He could still be at the stage of no guilt."
"How long does that stage last?" I say.
"Depends on them. I had it for a whole year. I even tried to fast to make sure I didn't kill humans. But I would get too hungry and end up doing it." I say.
"Well if they asks for help then we end this whole fiasco, saving lives, and not have to kill them." He says. I smile and I jump up and kiss his cheek. I stop and sit back down.
"Sorry." I say.
He touches his cheek and sits back down. "Its OK I don't mind." He says as his voice cracks.
A few moments later Elliot walks in. "OK slow pokes. What you guys got." He says throwing his coat on Noah's bed.
"Well we have an idea. Well, what if the vampire is a newly changed vampire?" Noah says. Elliot thinks.
"What gave you the idea?" Elliot asks.
"Well there these dead animals found by the bodies. And Penelope said that she used to hunt animals and humans when she changed." Noah says. Elliot looks at me.
"You used to hunt humans?" Elliot asks shocked.
"Don't act all innocent. It was back before I was discovered. I am sure you went through it too." She says.
"I went through the transformation with the woman I married. She happened to have been an experienced vampire. So I never went through the hunting humans thing." He says.
"Whatever. Lucky." I say.
We heard a knock on the door. Karlee walks in and sits on Noah's bed. "So Penelope... Are you and Noah almost finished with the project?" She smiles.
"Hopefully soon. And then I can hang out with you. Without having to worry about a project being due." I smile back at her.
"Maybe not bring him." She points to Elliot. "I am a great cock block. If you catch my drift?" She winks and leaves the room.
My face burns a bright red and Elliot smirks. "Oh really now. And she likes me." He says.
"That clearly was an indication that she doesn't Elliot." Noah says.
"I am going to ask her again. For the twelfth time today." He straightens his color and walks out the door.
Noah looks at me and smiles. I smile back. "About what Karlee said. That's because she thinks Elliot is my cousin and she thinks that he is here to protect me." I say not looking at his eyes.
"I don't mind." He says getting close to me.
I swerve out of the way and grab my things. "Oh look at the time. I got to go before Carol worries." I say and he smiles.
"We'll figure out what to do about it tomorrow." He says.
I blush. "What?" He smiles.
"The new guy vampire." He smiles laughing at my reaction.
"I knew that. I uh- I mean - I got to go." I say and run out the door.

Downstairs with Elliot and Karlee.
Elliot's POV
"Please Karlee. One date all I am asking." I asked.
"Why?" She asked.
"I think a pretty girl like you should not be without arm candy." I said. She rolls her eyes and I know that didn't work.
"Look. I like you. You are pretty. You don't swoon every time you see me like most girls. I like a challenge." She scoffs.
"A challenge! I don't want to someone's challenge." She says furious.
"OK I worded that wrong. But I do like you." I say. "OK how about this? I take you on two dates? OK and if you still don't find me irresistible, then I will leave you alone."
"A half date." She says.
"One and a half." I say.
"No date." She says crossing her arms.
"One date." I say crossing my arms.
"Fine. What day should I save." She says giving in. I smile.
"Friday. Six o'clock. I will pick you up." I say and grab my jacket as Penelope runs out the door. I leave all excited for Friday.
