Fallon's POV

I stared out the window, speechless. Rayne and I are what now?

"Harriet, this is bullshit. Why would they set me up with some brat and make it look like I was foolish enough to go illegal racing with her?!" I whined.

"Your parents are at it again, aren't they?" I should have suspected it, given how they've been spending their money.

I nod slowly. "They're into the dirty game again."

Harriet handed me a bottle of water and calmed me down by guiding my breathing. Without her, I might have ended up as a cold corpse or dead meat in a trash bag.

"Your secrets are safe with me," she says. "Always will be."

I hugged her quickly. We need to put on a show, pretending we haven't figured anything out. We must play dumb to continue their games.

"I'll forever thank you for saving me," I said, and she smiled back.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm dating Rayne Muller—a high schooler who still wants to finish her studies despite her recklessness.

Drag racing every Friday and Saturday. Unfamiliar bars on Sundays. On other days, she'd do anything to avoid boredom, which is why she goes to school.

"They could have picked someone better, right?" I nod.

They knew better than to match me with someone older yet more immature than I am.

"I'm starting to think I should murder Alesandro and Marissa." I stated. "They've been making a lot of moves, like moving a knight to E-3 and hoping it would still be a game they'd win."

"How're you?" I asked her, realizing we were too focused about me and my fucked up situation.

"I'm dating someone." I choked on the water as I coughed. "Who?!"

"You interrogate me as if you do not know the answer already." She play on her smirk.

Well well, if it wasn't for Harriet Styles' stunning admiration towards my ex girl crush's best friend. What a day to be a hopeless romantic gay.

"I'm happy for you, really," I blew her a kiss. "Are we gonna stop in our room first?"

She nod, as I fished my phone from my pocket. 1 new message.

Little Parker.

Holy fucking shit.

In the back of my mind I only know one person who calls me that, but it could potentially be just someone who wants to mess with me- I ain't got time.

We visited the sushi place Harriet has been wanting to eat at. She seemed like a happy little kid while we were ordering. I couldn't help but smile.

"Mmm, heaven in a food,"

"Close your mouth, Miss Harriet," I picked my chopsticks and started grabbing sushis from the tray and dipping them into the sweet and spicy sauce.

"The last time we ever left for sushi was three years ago, could you blame me?"

I made no response. Neither any of us took that as a big deal- after all, we haven't had a meal since our breakfast which only consisted of some biscuits and milk.

"You should ask her out for a date." I suggested.

"Huh?"

"Harriet, we're not getting any younger. We've been hopeless romantics since high school, practically never been into dates that we actually would have wanted, right? You should take this opportunity- at least before classes starts, hang out with her."
