Chapter Five: Beautiful Assholes

You walked back to the class, your head slightly dizzy. You couldn't believe how naive you had acted. You had actually thought that there was a possibility that he would like you. Obviously, that wasn't the case.

Of course, he was an asshole. Aren't all boys?

Stop being a judgmental ass, (Y/N), you had to remind yourself. It just so happened that all the boys you had ever been interested in were assholes. Beautiful assholes, but assholes still. Or just playboys, who were just not interested in her.

Thinking about this, you were involuntarily reminded of Min Yoongi. This little liking that you had for Jimin (which you shouldn't even call a liking as you have only known him for a FREAKIN' day) was nothing compared to the huge crush you had had on Yoongi. It had been more than a crush. Love is not meant for you.

But that's a story for another time.

You entered the class, mentally convincing yourself that you hadn't been affected at all by what had happened. You weren't gonna act all brokenhearted because you don't have a boyfriend. You hadn't done that when Yoongi broke your heart (and you hadn't even dated him. Yet, here you are.) and you weren't gonna do that now.

You'll just avoid him as long as you can. And if he comes and talks to you, you'll reply as normally as you can. You weren't gonna raise your expectations. He's gonna be nothing more than a friend to you.

The teacher started to talk about something, but your mind was somewhere else. No, you weren't thinking about Jimin. Weirdly enough, you kept thinking about Yoongi. You wondered where he was, what he was doing. Was he still hooking up with people? Or had he found someone?

You still remember his passion for music. You had loved him for that. It had been the one thing that had made you see him for the first time in a way other than just my best friend's brother. He was Song-i's brother. He had left a few years ago to completely dedicate himself to his music. You hadn't heard from him since.

You were so lost in thought that you didn't notice someone sit next to you. You did notice when you felt many eyes on you. You turned and saw that Jimin was sitting next to you. You realised he was the one everyone was staring at. He had been late again. And you guessed he got detention again, judging from the faces of the people in the class. You had been too occupied in your own thoughts to know.

You sighed, looking at him with a look that said 'really?'. He looked at you with a sheepish smile, shrugging his shoulders. You shook your head. You looked at the teacher, this time actually paying attention to what she was saying. A few minutes into the class, you felt a hand nudge your arm slightly. You ignored Jimin, knowing that he would probably stop after a while. He kept nudging you, making you realise he wasn't gonna stop.

"What?", I said, irritated. Your voice sounded bitter He looked shocked for a minute but got over it in a second. He gave you a cute eye smile.

"Someone isn't in a good mood today. Again.", he asked.

"Who said I wasn't in a good mood?", you said, dialing down the bitterness.

"Were you jealous? About the hallway thing? That girl? Whom I was flirting with?", Jimin said in a serious tone.

You laughed. It was mean and loud and whole class looked at you with confused faces. You stopped abruptly before looking at Jimin.

"You really think you're too good for your own good, don't you?"

"Well, yes. But that's not the point.", he looked at you with expected eyes, wanting you to answer his question.

"No, Jimin, I wasn't jealous. Why would I be?", you asked, trying to look calm.

Jimin couldn't tell if you were lying. He knew that he should be glad that you weren't, but some part of him wanted you to.

He gave you one more of his eye smiles, ones that turned him into an anime character. Those were your favourite smiles of his. You looked away, not wanting to smile back. You have known him for two days (Y/N), you are not gonna have a favourite smile, you thought firmly. You didn't talk to him for the rest of the class.

As soon as the bell rang, you darted out of the class. You stuffed your books in the locker as fast as you could, slamming the locker shut as you jogged to your class. The plan of being friendly with Jimin won't work. So you guess that you'll just ignore him completely. Which was not the foolproof plan you had thought it would be.

Entering your new class, you just hoped that you wouldn't see Jimin for a while. At least until you have your feelings in check.
