He has not had a good reputation with step-fathers. One of them traumatised him greatly. His father had left his mother when he found out she was pregnant and she wanted to keep it. She was a single mom for quite awhile until she had found someone that she thought was 'the one'. Robbie was around 7 at the time and he welcomed and loved his step-father. One night, his step-father had come into Robbie's room in the middle of the night. Robbie has waken up and was confused as to why his step-dad was in his room at night. His step-father led him down to the basement and said that he was gonna do something special that only fathers and sons did. He said it was a normal thing that fathers and sons did. But he couldn't tell his mother. Robbie was excited and wanted to know what it was. His father started to touch in inappropriate places, Robbie didn't know at the time but his father was sexually assaulting/abusing him. At the age of 12 he tried to stop his father and said that he had found someone. His father was angry and beat him. After one year of this continuing, he finally had the courage to tell him mother. She was shocked and rang the police, he ended up in jail but Robbie was scarred for life (hence developing the fear).
