Leigh's POV
Upon being greeted, neither Jade nor Imani said much to us.
The girls and I followed them inside as they conversed about the happenings of the night. My jaw dropped seeing the interior, it was truly exquisite, modern, and luxurious. I shared a look with Jesy and Perrie, and they seemed as surprised.
When Jade mentioned a Safehouse, I simply assumed it would be an underground chamber with concrete walls, but I guess hiding in plain sight was their choice in tactics.
We didn't get to see much of the place since Imani and Jade started walking up some stairs, so we followed. I was surprised at how Perrie and Jesy were taking everything, but I'm pretty sure they would start asking questions soon.
"Jade, can you at least tell us what exactly is going on? I mean don't you think this is a little excessive?" asked Perrie.
Jade and Imani turned to look at us.
Jade looked in my direction. We had discussed this in the car, I knew she couldn't say much, but what else could we do but wonder. Whatever was going on had our lives on the line. All of us girls knew Jade would do everything in her power to keep us safe, but if we knew what was going on, maybe we could offer our help. I know Jade knows this too, so what makes her so afraid?
She held my gaze for a sometime before looking away. I knew she wanted to tell me, to tell us, but clearly things were more serious if they had to be kept silent. Imani and Jade shared a look before Imani decided to address the matter.
"We have to do what is needed to ensure something like this doesn't happen again." she said
"But don't you think that was like a one time thing?" asked Jesy.
"From the looks of it, this is just the beginning. I understand it may be a bit difficult being in the dark on this matter. Maybe you will learn more of the situation, or maybe you won't."
Imani and Jade turned and continued walking along a long hallway on the second floor. They led us to 3 doors.
"You girls should get some rest, these rooms all have their own bathrooms, clean clothes, and some other stuff. Your rooms all have connecting doors. Jade and I need to discuss some stuff. We'll be downstairs if you need anything. And maybe we can talk later." Imani said, pointing to the 3 doors.
Jade stood silent through the questions. The girls and I looked at her to which she gave a small smile and nodded to the rooms before looking back down, seemingly lost in her thoughts.
Jesy, Perrie, and I looked at each other, and from the looks of it, we were going to be discussing this inside. Perrie took the door on the far right, Jesy in the middle, and me on the left.
Jesy and Perrie entered the room, while I glanced at Imani and Jade. Imani caught my gaze and nudged Jade's side causing her to look up and meet my gaze. I had no idea what was going on, deep in my bones I knew I was scared, but I was trying to be strong for Jade. I wanted to be with her. I needed her.
I broke our eye contact and turned to enter the room.
"Leigh"
I turned back to face her only to be taken into a hug. Her arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer.
