Liam and I dated? For two years?! When was this? How do I not remember? How did it end? Why did we date? If we broke up before, why did he kiss me? Most importantly, why did I kiss him back?? Ugh, there's so many questions I need answered!
"Janessa? You okay?" Jordan asks, disturbing my never ending thoughts and questions.
"I'm confused." Is all I manage to say.
Jordan chuckles. "You crack me up, Jay."
"No, I'm serious. I don't understand why you, Liam, kissed me," I turn to face Liam, who's eyebrows are raised, "and I don't remember ever being in a relationship with you."
Liam's face turns cold, sad, and confused. His eyebrows crease and he doesn't say anything. Jordan stops his chuckling fit over there and throws me a 'You're-a-stupid-little-shit' face. He leans in the windowframe again.
They both stare at me like I'm going crazy. Okay, I probably am but you can't blame me for not remembering all these things. Obviously I'm really forgetful.
I look down at my converses, feeling uncomfortably awkward.
"You really don't remember any of that?" Jordan questions nonchalantly.
"No, I don't." I respond, still staring down at my shoes, avoiding eye contact with these two.
Jordan facepalms and heaves a long sigh. "Janessa," He says obviously trying hard to hold in his frustration, "you're the one that asked the little shit out!" He shouts and throws his arms in the air dramatically.
"Hey!" Liam barks.
"Liam, it's not my fault you were as tall as my pencil back then."
"Okay now you're just exaggerating."
"You know what? I don't give a flying asian squirrel okay?!"
"Guys!" I shout and raise my hands between them. They both stop arguing.
"Calm your asses down and let me get this straight." I demand. They both nod and I let my arms down.
"So I asked Liam out when we were kids and then we dated for two years?"
"Yup." Liam answers.
"And we broke up because I had to move?"
"Well it's a long story a lot's happened during that time between yall." Jordan says.
"Jordan, did I ask you?" I say with an attitude. Like, seriously I just want to get to the bottom of this so I can see what kind of surprise Dad has for me.
"Janessa, I think the real question is did you not ask me?"
I throw Jordan death glare and then give him the bird.
"Anyways, Liam. How old were we when this happened?" I turn to face Liam who's leaning against the car door. He took off his glasses at some point during this conversation and his hair is messy from the wind which makes him even hotter if I do say so myself. His light blue eyes lock onto mine.
"You were 8 and I was 9 when we started dating and we broke up when you were 10 and I was 11. It was a month before you moved.." Liam explains. He seems sad now and I don't think he wants to talk about this but I don't really care because I need to remember these things.
"So why did we break up?"
Liam doesn't look at me when I ask him this. Instead, he stares blankly at a picture folded in the cup holder to where you can only see the back of it. My eyebrows furrow in confusion. The nice breeze flows through his truck's windows and suddenly I get goosebumps.
