July 2016

I cried my eyes out as my break up playlist echoed in my room. He left me. After 2 years together, he called it quits. We were supposed to be fixed but he gave up. We drifted apart. Our conversations became colder as time passes by and we ended up fighting over the littlest things to the point that we throw each other hurtful words without holding back, not making up till a week later. I remember that one time when our fight lasted for two weeks. He showed up at my door, holding white roses. I let him in and we talked about us, about what's happening, reminiscing beautiful memories of us when we are still okay. Both of us knew about our damaged relationship but he said he is willing to work this out and so am I. The two of us cried and we actually made up that night. Our relationship stayed like that for months but no one dared to let go. We tried to fix it, tried to avoid fights, tried to be the same but we always go back to the same situation we had before that ends up with someone walking out the door.

I checked my phone and saw 24 missed calls from my best friend Kyle. He's been with me since diapers and he probably heard the news about us. I didn't bother calling him back though because I'll just mess up with his schedule.

"Ahleigiah Nightly Caster, those songs we're heard from across the street!"

I should've known that he'll come. I felt the bed dip beside me as his arms wrapped around my shaking figure. I wrapped my arms around him as well.

"I-i can't Kyle. W-we're over. Luke left, H-he left me."

Kyle wrapped his arms tighter around me. "Shh. Darling, everything's gonna be fine." Kyle knew about the problem between me and Luke. He's been with me through everything and Luke was the only guy he approved of. Some might expect Kyle to be mad but he couldn't be mad at Luke. I'm not even mad but I'm upset because we both fought and tried every way to save our relationship but the damage was too huge.

I looked up from Kyle's chest when I heard the music stop. I found him fiddling with my phone.

"Kyle what are you doing?"

"Leige, love you can't do this forever. You have to keep going. Luke wouldn't want you to be miserable." He said, sitting up, pulling away from me.

"That was two years gone Kyle!"

"I know but you can't move on if you don't get yourself together."

"But isn't it too early? We broke up just 6 days ago." I mumbled, trying to not think about that day.

"It's not honestly. You know what, we're going somewhere." He said suddenly. He must be joking, I'm a mess right now.

"What?"

"Trust me, you haven't been there once." Kyle's eyes are full of excitement and joy as if he forgot about my state. My tears have dried , thank goodness after hours of crying.

"But I'm a mess. I don't even know what I'll wear."

"Eh, just wear casual."

"Where are we going anyway?"

"It's a secret but I swear it's beautiful."

About an hour and a half later, i was ready and is just putting on some mascara.

"Ooh. That's nice!" He commented on my outfit. I wore black jeans, a cropped top sweatshirt, converse and my sunglasses. This better be good cause I'm not in the mood for going out.

"Bring your charger." Kyle said when I took out my bag. Okay? Why is my charger needed in this? He then stood up from my bed, straightened his shirt before searching his pockets to reveal a small, vintage pocket clock.

I gave him a confused look

I gave him a confused look. "What?" He asked and I shook my head before speaking. "A clock?" He chuckled and looked at the clock. "Yes Leige, a clock. A heirloom actually. Now come here and stand next to me."

I wanted to ask but decided against it. Knowing Kyle, he would never say. Following what he said, I went to the spot next to him. He then made me hold his hand which is already holding the small clock so the clock is in between both of our hands. I gave him another questioning look but he just smiled before pressing a button on the clock and telling me to close my eyes and not open them until he says so.

Then all of a sudden, I felt us moving and the surroundings spinning. I was about to open my eyes but Kyle placed his other hand over my eyes so I wouldn't see. "Don't open your eyes. I should've known you're too stubborn." He laughed and squeeze my hand even though it was a bit unsuccessful due to the clock in between them. That somehow soothe my nerves knowing that we're still safe, I think?

"You can open your eyes now." Kyle said after just a few seconds. And I did.

"Okay so where are we?" I asked. We're definitely not in my room nor anywhere near it. We didn't even walk! Yet we're in a different place.

"This darling, is London!" He exclaimed. "London? You're playing with me. This isn't London! Where's my room? My flat? Honestly, this can't be London--"

"Leige! You're rambling!"

"Sorry."

"I'll explain it to you okay? I think your flat isn't built yet."

My flat isn't built yet? I looked around me, saw a few houses of my neighbors but the others seem so unfamiliar. I haven't seen them before but i guess we're on my street?

"Kyle what do you mean?"

He checked the small clock before looking at me

"Well, don't freak out but this is London, in the 70s"
