July 1975

"You're kidding right?" I asked him in disbelief. This cannot be the 70s now can it? That's just plain impossible. I looked around me and studied the buildings around me. It doesn't look that modern but its still beautiful.

"No. We're really in the 70s and ---" he checked the clock once again. "--- right now, it's 1975."

"No way. But how?" He laughed at me which I don't really understand why. I'm confused and scared shitless, how can he laugh at me now?

"You see, this heirloom is like a time machine. You press it and it brings you back in time. Oh, and its actually called the Trial."

"Okay... I need time to process this. Why did you bring us here anyway?" I asked. Out of all years, why did he chose here?

"I've been here before. A few months ago I think? After Kyline. I learned to love the 70s and I promised to come back. I also thought you need a distraction."

"Promised to who?"

"You'll see. It's just a few blocks away."

He started to run and dragged me with him so we can go faster. We received strange glances from other people which I think is rude but I realized it might be because of the way we dressed.

We eventually stopped in front of a huge beautiful house. Kyle rang the doorbell and the door opened revealing a woman who seemed to be in her 40s. Her lips formed a smile at the sight of us -- Kyle rather.

"Kaizer! It's good to see you!" She exclaimed and pulled Kyle in a hug. Wait, Kaizer?

"Well, I told you I'll be back. Been busy back in 2016." He told the lady and she nodded in agreement. She knows about this?

"That's understandable. From the way you described the future, it sounds like it's full of things to do."

"Oh before I forget, this is Ahle-- Allison! My best friend. The one I told you to bring with me soon." Kyle introduced me. With a different name. I sent a small smile to the lady in front of me.

"It's nice to finally meet you Allison. I'm Elisa by the way. Come in, Michael's inside."

We entered the house and saw a man about the same age as Elisa, her husband maybe?

"Michael!" Kyle yelled. Michael looked up and gave Kyle a hug before turning to me.

"Hello! I'm Michael, Elisa's husband. I'm assuming you're Allison?" He said. I glanced at Kyle and gave me a warning look so I nodded.

"Yes sir."

"Oh no need to call me sir! Just call me Michael!" He said.

"Are you guys going to stay for a while?" Elisa asked.

"Yes actually, of you two don't mind. Allison over here is in need of a distraction." Kyle answered.

"Well then you two can have the guestrooms. Kaizer, you know the way. Feel at home both of you." Elisa said and I just smiled at her. Kaizer and Allison needs to have a chat soon.

"Thanks guys! You're the best!"

The two of us made our way upstairs to the guestrooms. He chose the one on the left so I automatically have the right. I followed him inside his room. The room has a huge bed, a closet, a desk and a bathroom.

"Kyle. Or should I say Kaizer?" I called firmly

"Yes?"

"What is happening?"

"They know about the time travel thing. And we're pretty close. They said I'm like the son they never had so I promised to come back here. And I also may or may not have mentioned you so they wanted to meet you."

I takes a while to process everything but after the whole messing with time incident, nothing can be worse now.

"Really? Kaizer? Where did you even get it?" I laughed at his choice of name. At least I'm starting to understand what is happening. And he explained to me everything. We needed to use another name so there won't be confusion in the future. It'll be a disaster if someone from the future got a record of us back here with the same name and looks as we are in the future. At least, if we have a different name, it could be called coincidence. Kyle's planning to stay here until tomorrow and then come back to 2016, the exact day and time we left.

"Kyle Aizer Evans. I literally mixed my names to get it."

"Why not just Aizer? Sounds alike anyways." He rolled his eyes at me .

"Nah. You know I hate that name and besides, I'm being creative for once. Be proud. Your name here is Allison Maxwell by the way. Don't ask me why cause I don't know either." The two of us laughed at each other.

Maybe 1975 will be a good distraction.
