When the final bell rang I started walking out of the school and to my house. "Leah! Wait up!" I turned around to see Jack running towards me, his black hair and blonde steaked hair fell into his face. He was wearing a black Jack's Mannequin shirt and black skinny jeans. I stopped and waited for him to catch up. Once he caught up with me he wrapped his arm around me and we started walking again. "You're coming to my house, right?" he asked happily.
I nodded, "I have to go home and put my crap down and get my costume, then I'll head over," I said. "I'll walk you! Then we can go to my house!" he said happily. We walked to my house and Jack cracked some jokes. When we got to my house I was laughing hysterically and I had to catch my breath before I pulled out my keys and opened the door.
Jack followed me up the stairs to my room and I threw my bag onto the floor. Jack stood behind me as I bent over to get my costume and he suddenly yanked me up. His lips met mine and he yanked me closer to him. He intertwined his fingers in my hair and I wrapped my arms around his neck. When he pulled away he grinned and I smiled back; it was a good kiss....it just felt weird. Quickly I busied myself grabbing everything I needed so I wouldn't have to talk to Jack and then we walked downstairs. After I locked up we started toward his house. "So, Jack, what does this," I lifted up our intertwined hands, "mean?" I asked feeling slightly confused.
His face scrunched up as he thought for a second before he stopped and made me look at him, "Leah, will you be my girlfriend?" he asked, his adorable grin shining at me. I nodded happily and he kissed my hand.
When we got to his house we walked into his kitchen and I sat at the table while he made food. "When are Rian and Kara coming over?" I inquired.
He swallowed the spoonful of ice cream he had put in his mouth, "Four, do you want a bite of this?" he asked, offering me the carton he had in his hand. It was chocolate and I nodded quickly. Jack grinned before reaching over, pulling out a spoon and tossing it to me.
"Well it's only three, so what do you want to do until then?" I questioned as I took a spoonful of ice cream and shoved it in my mouth.
"Uh, we can watch a movie," he suggested while taking the carton of ice cream from me.
"Sure, I choose the movie though," I shouted, scrambling to get into is living room and choose the movie before he could say no. Immediately I went over to the shelf of movies and scanned them, looking for my favorite while hoping Jack didn't hide it like he threatened to do last time I was here. Finally I found it and my eyes lit up as I pulled it from it's place on the shelf.
Jack followed me into the living room a couple moments later and seeing my movie choice he laughed. "You know we watch this every time you choose the movie right?" he inquired sitting on the couch and eating more ice cream.
"Yes, it's because I like it," I explained while sitting next to him and grabbing his wrist that had the spoon of ice cream in it. I tried to direct it into my mouth but he pushed my head away with his other hand. "Jack, let me have it," I whined. He shook his head and shoved the spoonful of ice cream into his mouth. He laughed as I stuck out my bottom lip in a pout and scooped out more ice cream before offering me the spoon.
The movie was halfway over when the door bell rang. Jack jumped up excitedly and ran to the door, "RIAN!" I heard him shout. When Kara walked into the room, I looked behind her for Rian and Jack but I didn't see them right away. A couple seconds later Rian came out of the hallway with Jack on his back.
Kara sat on the love seat and after dumping Jack off his back, Rian went and sat next to her. "Lilo and Stitch again? Really Leah?" Kara said rolling her eyes. I grinned, this movie was so beyond amazing and I loved it so much. Jack sat back down next to me and I leaned up against him while he wrapped his arm loosely around me.
Kara gave me a look, "So, what's going on with you two?" Rian asked curiously.
Chewing on my lip I looked at Jack hoping he would explain so I wouldn't have to, "So, we're going out, I like her and she likes me," he said simply.
"Uh, can I talk to you for a second Jack, alone?" Rian questioned. Jack nodded nervously and they both got up before walking up the stairs and out of sight.
"What is going on? I didn't know you liked Jack," Kara said sounding a bit hurt. Nervously I began to play with my fingers while I gave Kara an apologetic look.
"Kara, I'm sorry, I didn't realize it until his kissed me," I told her.
She nodded understandingly before looking up, "Do you think Alex is gonna be mad?" she asked.
I shrugged, "I don't really care if he is and it's not like I like him anyways. And the way he acts make it seem like he doesn't like me either, I feel like he just wants to get in my pants. You know how Alex is," I said. To be completely honest I didn't care about what Alex thought. Why did everything need to be run by Alex? He wasn't either of our fathers and we didn't need his approval for a relationship.
"Well obviously he was upset about it so he must like you, and you don't even know him that well Lee, give him a chance! You keep making him feel like shit, he's gonna act like a shithead," she said, her voice getting angrier towards the end.
"It sounds like you rather me with Alex then with Jack," I said softly. It made me upset that Kara didn't support Jack and I. She was my best friend, wasn't she supposed to be happy for me?
"It's not like that, it's just, Jack and you will be better off as best friends, I don't want you guys to mess up your friendship. Maybe I'm weird but I can just see you and Alex together," she explained softly. I thought quietly to my myself, what if Jack and I did fuck up our friendship? I loved being his friend. And Alex? Was I not giving him enough of a chance to prove himself? Would Alex and I be good together? Ugh, I didn't know what to do.
