Anne hastily crammed some bread and eggs in her mouth."Anne! For Heaven's sake, you have time to chew your food you know!" Marilla shrieked.
"Absolutely not! I'm late on my second-last day of school!" Anne responded with her mouth full as she gathered her books.
"Exactly my point Anne, you have plenty of time to eat!"
"Exactly my point Marilla. This might be the last time I will see any of my friends and Ms. Stacy!"
"Until next year Anne, you'll get to see them in a few months." Marilla sighed while picking up the dishes.
"Thank you for the scrumptious breakfast, I'll help you clean once I return! Bye!" Anne squealed while racing out the door. Marilla picked up another plate as the door bursts open with Anne rushing back inside. "Forgot my slate!", and leaves once more, making Marilla chuckle to herself.
...
Anne dashes down the route to her school, shortly she made her way through the forest. The forest always seemed to soothe her. Maybe it was because the enormous trees covered over her as to shelter her from the harshness of the world or the fact that the trees had never attempted to harm or taunt her in any way.
Anne had now stopped sprinting and now was taking in the beauty around her. The forest was lush and green much lovelier in their fuller form than when it was dead and shriveled up in winter. Great towering, leafy -- "Stop! you have to get to school!" Anne scolded herself. With a shake of her head, she continued her way to school.
Whilst Anne was on her journey to school, Marilla had cleaned up and was scanning through last week's post. She hummed a sweet tune as she set the letters that bored her on the table until a letter caught her eye, it had no stamp or any hint as to whom it was from the only information that was written was 'to Marilla'. Anxiously she opened the letter and quickly skimmed over it. She burst in excitement, "Matthew!"
