I listen as the others prepare for their next mission. Mom walks by my room, looking in quickly before smiling.
"Your father said he won't be home for a while, so you should come down and stay with me, alright? I'll make you snacks while you study." She smiles, waiting my answer. I wait eight seconds, thinking, before shaking my head. She just smiles and starts to walk away before I stop her.
"Mom?" she looks back at me. "Will any others be here too? Or am I alone again?" I ask. Her smile wavers.
"Klaus is sick, so he will be left in his room. Vanya will be in her room, studying. If you must talk to them, please wait until your father has left." She smiles again before heading to check on the others. My heart sinks slightly at the words. Klaus is sick. Still, Dad let him stay home? He must be really bad.
I wait fourteen minutes, thirty seconds before heading to the other hall. I walk slowly through the hall, listening to my footsteps. I stop at Klaus' door, knocking twice on the open door. He sits up to look at me before smiling.
"Hey. I heard you were sick," I state worriedly, stepping into the room slowly. He nods, coughing loudly. I sit on the edge of the bed, tilting my head to look at him. He smiles at me.
"Do you want me to leave you alone?" I ask him, getting ready to get up. He shakes his head furiously, grabbing my hand and holding between his two.
"I never get to see you!" He speaks up, voice slightly raspy from whatever sickness he has.
"Well, what do you wanna do?" I ask him. His eyes look at the ground.
"I need to tell you something," his voice drops low, and he looks me in the eyes. I nod, knowing that this must be important. Sixteen seconds of silence passes before he finally speaks.
"I think I might be pan," he finally tells me, fear evident on his face. I smile slightly before grabbing his hands with my other one.
"You and me both."
