Somehow you managed to sleep curled up in that corner chair of the waiting room without falling out of it.
Loud chatter and other noises woke you up, so you took your phone out of his pocket to check the time...
'It has only been an hour. No wonder I am still so tired.' You concluded to yourself.
Just then, you saw Seo-Yun walking towards you, so you instantly stood up, slightly throwing your body off balance. The two of you quickly collapsed into a tight, emotional embrace for what felt like a really long time.
Seo-Yun breaks away from the hug first and gently puts her hands on your shoulders.
"We both know they are going to be in surgery for a while. Let's go get some food from the cafeteria and sit outside for a bit while we catch up on other stuff in our lives." Seo-Yun suggested.
"That sounds like a great idea right now. Let's go." You agreed.
They walked over to the elevator together, arms linked together... an unspoken reassurance to each other. Given everything that is happening right now, each other is all they have.
The three floors down to the cafeteria seemingly take forever... and upon reaching it, the smell of the food is so acrid and so powerful that it's almost like a slap in the face. They decided to skip the meal entirely and sit outside.
"So tell me, Minah, what is happening between you and this Taehyung kid? I want to know, and don't you dare even think about leaving anything out!" She exclaimed.
"Well, after you left the diner that day, he stayed there with me until I closed up. He kept staring at me... and he called me pretty... twice. I started walking home, and even then he couldn't let me be alone... so he walked with me. After that, you called me about baby Ji. He followed me back to the diner without a word. I put up the sign, locked it up one last time, and started walking home again.
We made it about a block before I... very embarrassingly broke down... right in front of him... and that is when Taehyung convinced me to go to his place to rest instead of mine because it was closer. He has cooked multiple meals, comforted me, listened to me, and very gentlemanly shared his extra bed with me. He didn't even think twice when the testing situation came up for baby Ji before he agreed to do it.Three days ago, he asked me to be his girlfriend. It's almost like Taehyung knew that I would say yes to him. He had an entire day planned out for us... even though he made it seem like he didn't. After I did say yes to him, the day that he gave me was the most beautiful day I have ever had in my whole life... which started with a lovely story about his parents while we were standing in front of the same tree where his dad took his mom for their first date..." You explained and then quietly awaited Seo-Yun's response.
"Keep going..." Seo-Yun urged.
"Then we started discussing what kind of relationship we desire... interestingly enough, Taehyung and I are pretty much exact. What we both want is precisely the same. The next part of our conversation was him admitting to me that he had a feeling about me before we even met... like we are soul mates. You see, Taehyung walking into our diner that day was not a coincidence or just some random customer coming in for his coffee... Taehyung sought me out. He also admitted that it had taken him days to gather up enough courage to even go into our diner and order from me." You added.
"I... uhhh... wow Minah, I don't even know what to say to all of that..." Seo-Yun acknowledged.
"Taehyung... he is truly a dream come true. You know, after everything that happened three years ago, no one could ever have convinced me that I would even go near another guy... ever again." You revealed.
