+The Silent Five+
~Chapter 7~
Monica's POV:
My stomach growled fiercely. It longed for something other than the potato chips Violet denied me last night. That's what we had for breakfast, and I was beginning to think it was what we were having for lunch.
In the morning, Dawn, Steph, and Fawn decided it was time to confess. They stood in a line with their heads down looking at the tops of their shoes guiltily the whole time and told us everything about the night before. I was amused, but Violet didn't seem to be; it wasn't a laughing matter for them to have lied straight to her face so i tried my best to keep a bored expression on while she lectured them on the importance of trust and how serious it could've been if the dudes followed, blah, blah, blah. "You see this is exactly why we didn't tell you what happened last night!" Steph stated angrily glaring up at Violet from her position on the couch. "You always go physcho lecture mama time on us! It was not our fault the dudes were chasing us we had to do what we had to do to get out of there as fast as possible!" "You still didn't have to lie to me about it!" Violet yelled giving Steph a hard look.
Giving a aggravated grunt Steph stood up dusting the dirt off her jeans from the couch and marched unhappily to the front door hitting Violet's shoulder in the process slamming it shut with as much force as possible grumbling incoherent words in the process. Without giving a second glance at any of us Violet stormed off to her bedroom furiously. "Be ready at 3 for the run." With that note she forcefully shut the door, when the click of the bedroom lock was heard I let out a breath I hadn't realized I'd been holding and gave the two girls still sitting on the couch grumpily an apologetic smile and went into my room to get ready for the usual Sunday run.
Three came a little faster than I'd hoped for. Steph still hasn't came back to the cabin since she stormed out and Violet was still locked in her room, she didn't even come out when I found a can of chicken noodle soup in one of the rarely used cabinets and offered to give it to her since she hasn't eaten in a while. Waiting about five minutes past three to see if either of them would show up (which they didn't) I decided to load the beaten up 80's wooden paneled jeep (only one of the 3 vehicles) with the food we stocked up from the last run with a few bags of cash to give to the Johnson's so they could pay off the rent of their old worn out home.
Stepping into the deserted living area I noticed there was a small piece of notebook paper laying on the arm of the couch. That's quite odd I didn't see it there earlier. Lifting the piece of paper i noticed the words were written in neat slanted words. Instantly I knew it was from Violet i mean who else can write like that in this house and still make it look proffesional. The note read:
Dear Mo,
I already left with Dawn to check the tree by the orphanage just in case Cara and them need any help. I left Fawn with you (she should be around the house somewhere) to help out at the Johnson's, I have no idea where Stephanie is, but if she doesn't show up by 3:30 leave her...
Remember be CAREFUL we're still not in the clear yet so be as quiet as possible.
~V
P.S. we should arrive at the Johnson's place by 5 or so notify us by walkie talkie just incase anything happens
With a roll of my eyes and a pretty loud sigh I mentally cursed at Violet for leaving me to do the difficult job while she's probably driving around in that old rackety car complaining to Dawn about how annoying everyone can be. In my opinion if I were them I wouldn't have told Violet either cause when she gets angry it lasts for days.
Walking around making sure everything was packed and ready to go I wondered what it would be like now if I was still living in my old town around Georgia. Would I still be in that snobby private school my parent enrolled me in because they'd thought it was a better education than public schools. Would I still be dating Josh whom I met my Sophmore year in high school? Would I still be on my path to becoming lawyer? Would I still be surrounded by a giant group of friends who'd ask me about anything and everything? I know I'd probably still have a comfy bed to sleep on and decent meals everyday, I'd probably kill just to have a decent meal nowadays.
I know what you're probably thinking. You're thinking, "well if your life was so wonderful how'd you end up here?" Well I'd tell you the wonderful story on how I got to where I am today with Violet and the rest of the gang, but judging by the time on the clock I need to be rounding up Fawn and hopefully Steph to go visit the Johnson's.
Shaking my head I picked up the keys laying on the kitchen counter and called for Fawn to hurry up.
"I'm coming! I'm coming! Don't rush me." She called back from the inside of her room in a rushed tone.
Rolling my eyes knowing she'd be longer than a few minutes I pulled out one of the uncomfortable wooden chairs from under the taped and glued together dinner table and sat down cautious of any signs of the chair getting ready to break. I'm still surprised it's actually still standing up right we found four of these in some abandoned shack in the middle of the woods termites eating everything else to pieces and there was a really cute wood dresser with a mirror connected to it too, but as everything else it fell apart almost immediately as it was touched.
"Okay! I'm ready!" Fawn announced parading out her room a little too perky for my taste.
Rolling my eyes at her weirdness I rose rather slowly out of the wooden chair that had been really uncomfortable. "Why're you so happy?"
"Because being happy makes everything better no matter how cloudy it is!" She exclaimed happily running out the door and hopping into the backseat of the vehicle making the causing it to rock back and forth.
Rolling my eyes I grabbed the keys to the vehicle and slowly preceeded to make my way to the driver's side knowing my slow pace would annoy her. Watching her annoyed expression through the window of the vehicle I smirked victoriously.
"Come on, come on we're waiting!" She cried annoyed at me rolling her eyes as I slowly sat into the drivers seat, and yes I'm old enough to drive thank you very much I just have no "official" license yet and probably never will be knowing if someone catches us they could probably find our identities through there.
Cranking up the vehicle I glanced briefly in the review mirror. Spotting a head full of slightly curly hair resting against the window I smiled proudly at the fact Steph took responsibility and showed up before dark.
"Glad you could join us." I called over my shoulder to Steph cranking the car and weaving the poor vehicle through the woods barely missing trees, it's a surprise it's still in one piece.

Okay guys imma cut this one short since I'm updating from my iPod and in a rush to get this new chappy in.
I know that this one was really really late, but as you know school started up and I just recently lost my co-writer due to her extreme school projects and assignments.
I really hope to get back on track, but that may not happen till a while since I also got onto my JROTC raider and rifle teams!
Anyways hope you enjoyed and new upload soon to come (hopefully) I may update this chappy a little more also to make it longer, but next chappy is gonna start off in Violet's POV! Yay!!
Thanks for being so patient and now I say goodbye!
