Catch Me if You Can (On Hold)

Chapter 2

          Friday, my favorite day of the week.

          Why? Well, here’s why:

          Movie night sleep over party.

          All the pizza I want.

          Staying up late, or all night.

          And best of all, the three of us, Kiera, Autumn and I, acting like maniacs while my parents are out and my sister is with her boyfriend.

          “Kasey Jones, are you paying any attention at all?” My English teacher Mrs. Snipes snaps at me bringing me back to reality.

          “Huh,” I ask rising my head up from my desk.

          “Thought so,” Mrs. Snipes says, glaring at me with her snake-like eyes.

          I bite my lip. “I’m sorry,” I say and grab my pencil.

          Mrs. Snipes returns to her lesson on whatever she is teaching and I start taking notes.

          My phone in my pocket vibrates. I look over at Autumn with her iPhone in her hand and she looks back at me nodding her head.

          I slowly and carefully slip my iPhone out of my pocket and check the message.

          Hey, you okay? You seem awfully tired and you keep losing your focus. Is this about Jacob and his constant weirdness? –Autumn

          I quickly time in my reply.

          Yeah, he is acting strange, and it’s killing  me to find out what he’s up too. I haven’t gotten any sleep in days. ~Kasey

          I look up at my teacher who is still focused on the bored and hit the send button on my phone.

          Jacob, he has been acting very strange lately. We keep bumping into each other, and talking and he’s been…friendly to me. It’s been going on for the past two weeks; can’t he ever take a break? I don’t get him…I don’t get boys and why they decide to annoy girls.

          My phone vibrates again. I click Autumn’s name and read the message.

          Okay, yeah don’t worry about it girl. ;) If he tries anything on you again Kiera and I have your back and we’ll kick his ass if we have to. –Autumn

          I let out a small laugh.

          Thanks. ;) You really are the best friend. Now, let’s chat, I’m getting very bored. ~Kasey

          I then click the send button and wait for a reply.

          Haha, okay. Oh, did you hear that Jacob dumped Madison last night? Oh my god, I heard she threw the biggest tantrum ever and had a mental break down that her parents had to give her medication! –Autumn

          I giggle while reading the text .

          Lol, but don’t believe everything you hear, except I did hear that he broke up with her. I knew it was coming, I wonder why she didn’t though. He does it with every girl. ~Kasey

          I click send and wait for a reply.

          “Kasey Jones and Autumn Oak, are you two texting in my class?” Mrs. Snipes asks, looking directly at us.
