Some people may not think much of Aurelia. Some might think that she was just an ordinary person who blended into the crowd, but something about Aurelia really stood out to Max. Maybe because she was so different from the obnoxious crowd around him - sweet, polite, introverted. Maybe it was her charming little smile that made people draw closer. Or maybe it was the way her eyes seemed to look past you and make you want to know more about her. But there was something about her that made her stand out to him.

"Mr. Chase!" Max jumped out of his stupor. "Can you please tell me what's the difference between a chemical and physical reaction," said the cranky teacher, Mr. Whittle. Not all the teachers in this school were lazy, blockheads with nothing to do in their lives than mock their students. Lets say Nocens High was universal. For instance, Mr. Whittle was one of the stricter teachers at the school, serious about everything. He was also one of the teachers that no one liked, not just because he was strict, but because of his attitude. He always had this air of superiority around him in front of his students, but an ass kissing personality in front of his superiors. That's why no one can defy him, because he was so well-liked by the teachers who could actually throw a punch. He was what Max would call a fake. That's why students in this lesson have no choice than to follow him, even the king of troublemakers. However, that never seemed to faze Max.

"How the hell should I know," said Max, clearly showing his distaste for the this teacher.

Mr. Whittle shook his head in disapproval, "If you were listening, which you clearly weren't, you might've been able to know the answer. Seriously, kids these days need to learn some respect." Everyone sneered in hatred. " Anyways, detention after school for you Mr. Chase," stated Mr. Whittle.

"What! you can't do that," defied Max, finger pointing accusingly at the arrogant science teacher.

Mr. Whittle leered at him, "Double detention for talking back. In fact I will be there for every bit of it." Max slumped down on his chair in defeat. He sighed. Maybe Aurelia was having a better last period than him.

Aurelia fidgeted uncomfortably in her seat. She kept averting her eyes to the giggling and flirtatious girls beside her. In the middle of the endless sea of heads was Jason. His scowl was ever so prominent and unlike Aurelia, was able to simply block out the squeals of the unwanted fangirls. Jason didn't even give them the time of day, but the fangirls seem to feed off his discouraging and mysterious demeanour and breed. She didn't even know how she found herself sitting next to him. One moment she was sitting alone, next moment he was there and the next, next moment there was a flock of girls there. It was history and the teacher hadn't even shown up yet so there was no one there to break off the group of girls. She tried to block out the sounds by looking around the room, but was met with an even more fearful sight. All the guys in the class were glaring holes into the back of Jason for hogging all the women. What agitated them the most was that he didn't even care. Any of the guys would kill to be in his position. Aurelia sighed. Maybe Max was having a better last period than her.

"BRING!" There it was. The infuriating sound that signalled the end of the day. The students immediately rushed out the room each going to their respective homes. Aurelia packed her books. She noticed a school jumper draped over the seat beside her.

"That must've been Jason's" she said aloud. She quickly checked outside the classroom to see if he was still there. Fortunately, he was still walking down the hall.

"Uh, Jason!" exclaimed Aurelia as she ran down to him.

"Here's your jumper." He stared at her. "Uh..you left it in the classroom," she stammered.

"Hn," grunted Jason. The warmth of the jumper left Aurelia's hand and once again she watched him leave.

Aurelia then jumped back in realisation, "I don't know how to get out of here!"
