Amara leaned against the balustrade of the Silver Street bridge, overlooking the River Cam. She watched people in punts go by water.
"Hello, there," Amara turned to her left, seeing a man, a handsome clean-shaven fellow with dark eyes. He leaned against the rail, observing her.
"Hi," she said.
"A woman like you shouldn't be herself."
She raised an eyebrow. "In broad daylight? I think I'll be okay."
He chuckled. "I meant by yourself in general."
"I'm waiting for someone."
"Boyfriend."
Amara thought for a second. "Yes."
He cocked an eyebrow. "Really?"
"Yes," she repeated, irritation sharpening her response.
"A true man wouldn't keep you waiting."
Amara looked away and saw Thor.
Amara smiled. "Well, that's no longer a problem." She stifled a rising giggle, seeing Thor's approaching form dwarf the man.
"Hey, babe," Thor slid his arm around her waist and kissed her on the cheek. He looked at the man looking up at him.
"Hello."
The man gave a smile to both persons and turned on his heel, walking away.
"Nice to meet you," Thor cried out.
Amara snickered. "Thank you."
"Sorry. Hope I didn't keep you waiting."
Amara shook her head. "No. Right on time."
His eyes travelled down and up. "You look great."
She grinned. After trying on many different outfits and putting her hair up and down in buns and ponytails to show off her neck, she also decided on casual with a little formality, letting her hair loose.
"Thank you. So do you."
"Thank you." He looked over at the white stone building to his left. "The Anchor," He looked down at the river. "Seems fitting."
She nodded. "It's a really nice venue."
"Shall we?" Thor gestured. Amara smiled as she led him to the entrance.
